Chris will be going for surgery on the 16th, to place a fixator on his foot and get it cranked back up to level. Once that is done and healed, which should take about a month, then he'll have another surgery to contour and shave down the graft and soon after, hopefully walking rehab can begin.

Chris and I filed our Civil Suit Thursday, but don't expect to get a dime.

Well Harry, we are trying, but it looks like we are just plain screwed once again. The law firm we have working on this is trying diligently to uncover information and there just isn't any to be found. Now that the suit is filed and official, maybe some subpoenas may bring some things to light?
 
If it were me I would have a hard time waiting 8 years to beat the living crap out of him for what he did to my son.:mad:

Eight years is way to little of time for someone like that and what he did to Chris.


You said you filed a civil suit. Can it made to be contigent in the event he either gets a job when he gets out, or inherits money, like you could pull a lien on him receiving it until he pays you off? Just a thought.

I can't believe he is smirking like that! Shows that he cares nada, nada, nada about what he has done or being in jail. Meanwhile everyone else suffers.

What is happening with some agency or other picking up the tab for Chris' surgeries? Any more luck there?

You know we are all still thinking of you, and good luck to Chris with his upcoming surgeries.

I also hope the lawyer finds some blood in that turnip. If nothing else, he should have to turn over the 68 cents/hour he will make working in jail. That should pay for a bottle of Tylenol.
 
Ross, I will be thinking and praying for you all and Chris for his upcoming surgeries. I will also be praying for the civil lawsuit you all filed. I look at Riley's (I won't call him mister) picture and wonder if he has a conscience. I'm sure he doesn't, but if by some chance he does, I hope the misery it causes him is relentless for the rest of his life. One day he will stand before the ultimate judge. LINDA

Were stuck waiting for a decision from Social Security which we may not see for 5 or more months yet. Meanwhile, the collection agencies are beginning to call. Nothing we can do but wait on S S Decision and then maybe they'll let him have Medicaid from the State. Until then, he's getting no financial help of any sort and very little for food stamps. Gotta love the system.

Riley is eating better, making his 68 cents a day, and show absolutely no remorse whatsoever, just as he did in court. Son of a bitch will probably get paroled in 4 years. Not bad for killing someone and changing 3 others lives forever. Just don't rob a store. You might end up in jail far longer.
 
My prayers are with you all as you face this injustice. As Linda states, one day he will stand before the ultimate judge and on that day, there will be a final reckoning.

No, you no doubt won't get any $ out of this. What a shame that a wacko can do this and get away with homicide! Where is the justice.

Ross, I'm not on a lot these days. I've been fairly pressed for time, but I do look in, lurk, checking threads ets. I had to sign on tonight to "reply". There isn't anything I can say to really help, but know that you, Chris, and the rest of your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Glad Chris is really mending. I know he has a long way to go, but the worst is over. Brian
