Well the date has been set for next Monday, January 8th. I've been busy digesting the information and taking care of business for the last 10 days. Sounds like there will be a few of us doing this next week.

I'm starting to feel very anxious. I go in for my pre-surgery checkup tommorrow morning.

Jeff

My very best wishes go out to you. Please try to get someone to post for you after surgery so we know you are doing well.

Godspeed.

From one coast to the other, I'll be thinking of you Jeff and sending positive energy your way. I totally understand the anxious feeling, I still feel that way myself sometimes. It's going to be OK though. Take care.

Jeffrey,

Sending you lots of positive thoughts and best wishes for an uneventful surgery and recovery. You will be in my prayers!

Take Care!
Susie

Congrads on getting a date. Now you need to get over the hurdle and you are on the other side! As a wise woman said recently, don't forget to take time for yourself as you prepare. Slow down and look around. Relax. You'll do great!

Looks like the 8th is going to be a stellar day. And the beginning of your new, improved life. You'll be in my prayers.

All the best on Monday. Wishing you a quick and uneventful recovery. I look forward to hearing from you from the other side of the mountain.

Jeff. Anxious is normal. Good. What happens next is that you begin to realize that you are confident in your choice of surgeon, hospital and valve. Your loved ones gather closer, and in one moment, you realize that you are at peace with it all.

In the meantime!!! Take some questions with you to your pre-op. My pre-op was the day before my surgery and the woman who filled out my forms and asked me all the questions turned out to have had kids who graduated from the same high school as mine, and she had worked for half of the doctors I'd ever seen in my 30 years in the Portland area. I think in another life she was in theater and the whole 2 hours we spent together were filled with laughter and anecdotes.

There will be lovely, professional, caring people walking you through all this. Do not forget their humanity.....they are there for you....use them!! Like anything; the more you smile, the more smiles you will receive.

You can certainly have something prescibed for you if you feel the anxiety is taking over. Talk with your general physician. Talk with any one. Remember that unless you ask, no one knows what you might need or not understand.

You'll do great!! Hang in there!

:) Marguerite

Jeff,

CONGRATULATIONS on setting a date! Now, the waiting is the longest and hardest part ... but, you'll get through it ... we all have :).

Good luck tomorrow, Jeffrey and we look forward to hearing all good results on the 8th!

Not a lot to say, Jeff, that's not already been better said above... You're going to be fine... You'll marvel at the resilience of your body throughout the process, and how your spirit carries you through. Just buckle up, let go, and enjoy the ride. It will all be over sooner than you realize.

It has to be a relief to at least have the date. Good Luck and prayers coming your way from me. I will be setting a date on the Jan. 12th. So I should be right behing you!

Jeff,

January 8 -- date of the national college football championship game and your AVR. Makes the football event seem trivial (which, of course, in the grand scheme of things, it is).

You should do well. Try to relax. (Easier said than done, I know.) As others have said, please have someone give us an update until you are ready to come back and give us a first-person report.

Our best thoughts/prayers go with you.

Cheers,

Wishing you all the best on the 8th!! I am praying for an easy recovery to follow!

Steph

Jeffrey

I have everything crossed for you. The day will come and go and I look foward to hearing from you. It'll be fine.

Best Wishes
