Our little grand-daughter Ellie has been terribly sick with the flu. She is in the hospital hooked up to an IV line. Our daughter & son-in-law are there with her. It is hard for Stephanie tonight since the English speaking doctor Ellie normally sees is not there. Steph speaks pretty good Spanish, but this is very stressfull. Barb & are pretty rattled ourselves. Joe is a native Spanish speaker, and that is a big help.

I am sure it is not as scary as it seems to me, but she is very young & very small. Please pray for her, and I will try to keep people informed.

You Have Mine Dennis....

You Have Mine Dennis....

It's always hard when it's the wee ones.....You and yours have my prayers...Harrybaby:eek:

Your sweet grandbaby is in my prayers. Hopefully it's just a case of her being dehydrated and needing some fluids to perk her up.

Dennis, you all have all our prayers tonight. I know how hard it must be on you and Barb to be so far away and feel so helpless. Just remember that they are strong little people and I'm sure she will rebound with vigor soon. Please keep us updated!

Oh Dennis, I am so sorry to hear Ellie is so sick. I am already praying for her and your family.

News from Puerto Rico

We just talked to Steph. Ellie is not going home tonight, and Steph and Joe will spend the night with Ellie in her room. We don't expect to hear from them until tomorrow. All I can say is thank you. Right now my heart and soul are in Puerto Rico.

Dennis, I will keep Ellie and you and your family in my prayers. I know this is hard, especially being so far away. But little ones really do bounce back quickly. Our daughter was hospitalized with the flu when she was about two and once they got some IV fluids in her, she was quickly back in top form. Please keep us updated. The prayers are already going up. I'm so very sorry to hear about little Ellie. I will keep her in my prayers. It is so hard when she is so far away.

Dennis,

Little Ellie won everyone's hearts when we first laid eyes on her. She certainly is part of our extended family here. I'm sure they are keeping her just to be on the safe side since she is so young and so little. The hospital is the safest place for her to be at a time like this so they can keep her hydrated.
May God bless her and help her get better.
Please keep us posted when you can.

I hope this morning finds Ellie much better. Poor little dolly she must be so scared. I can imgaine you are both very worried. She will be in my special thoughts and prayers.

Update

We got a call at 1:30 this morning, 4:30 am in Puerto Rico. Ellie spiked a fever of 104 degrees. They got on that immediately, and got it down. Ellie has not eaten for the last 24 hours, and has a lot of congestion. They are most concerned about her labored breathing. They have told Steph to expect Ellie will not be leaving the hospital for at least 3-5 days. They continue to do a lot of tests, but are not coming up with any answers.

Ellie will be moving to a different room today. Ellie's IV came out in the night, and they are going to replace that after the move.

My prayers are with Ellie and your whole family. I know how hard it must be having them so far away.
