Hi everyone. Lynn had asked that I get on the forum to update all of you about her surgery. I will do my best to relay what her hubby told me. :)

Lynn went into surgery on time at about 7:30 this morning. After not hearing from her husband by noon I started getting anxious so Lynn's son and I gave him a call. He told us she was still in surgery at that point. I tried him again around 1:30pm and he told me that Lynn had just come out of surgery and that he had just spoken to the surgeon. He said that they had to replace not only her aortic valve, but the aortic root valve as well. They were able to use tissue for both, which is what she had wanted. He also said that they had a difficult time getting the bleeding under control and that it took awhile to stop it. Even after surgery they apparently didn't understand why that occured and thought maybe it had to do with some meds she was taking (not blood thinners). The tubes were removed about 5:00 this evening and hubby says that she even yelled at him about something so he took that as a sign she was doing great! :D He is thinking she will be there for about 5 days in ICU and then will be released home.

If I learn anything more I promise to let you all know. Knowing Lynn, the second she gets home she will want to share with you her experiences herself!!

As her friend, I want to thank you for being here for her and for offering her all of your love and support. I wish you could all meet her. She is one of the most incredible people I have ever met. I admire her strength and courage and am blessed to have her in my life. Thank you again.....

Debbie

Hi Debbie, I had been wondering how Lynn had gone so thanks so much for updating us. Glad to hear that apart from the bleeding that things went well and that the tubes have been removed. Please give Lynn my best wishes and let her know that we are looking forward to hearing her story when she comes home - Regards Jeanne

Thank you, thank you!! Many of us have been checking in all day and it is good to hear that though she may have been somewhat of a challenge for the surgeons...they figured it all out and she is on the road to recovery now!

We will look forward to any updates you can give us. We genuinely appreciate your taking the time.

Way to hang in there, Lynn!! "Talk" to you soon, kiddo!! :D :D

Good news, she won't remember much of these two days and by sunday she will be on the up and up each day.

Let her know that its 3 days down and the rest of the time upwards....

Thank you Debbie for posting the good news. I'm sorry that she had some bleeding issues, but hopefully that's all water under the bridge.
I look forward to her first post from home, and please give her my best wishes.

It all sounds like a pretty normal surgery - little hiccups but big results.

Thanks for the update and we continue to pray that things run smoothly.

Tell Lynn and her family we are all by her side (even if the room gets very crowded).;) :D ;)

Debbie, thank you so much for letting us know. We always are concerned until we know all is going well. Please give her our love and tell her 'don't sneeze'. We look forward to having her right back here where she belongs. Sounds like you are great friends.

Thanks so much for taking the time to sooth our concerned minds. We do tend to wait anxiously when one of "ours" is having surgery. I will pray for a smooth recovery for Lynn.
