I come here tonight to ask for prayers for Roger, a co-worker who found out yesterday that he has cancer in his liver and colon. The doctors say it is terminal. Without chemo they give him less than two months, with chemo he is looking at 5 to 6 months. He started his treatments today.

Roger is a former Marine who was seriously injured in an auto accident several years ago. It was a multi car pile up on the Interstate. The air bag deployment saved him initially but just as the air bag deflated his vehicle was hit again. He suffered 9 broken ribs, injuries to his spine and one arm was broken in three places. He was paralyzed from the chest down. But he is a fighter. Although confined to a wheel chair he went back to work as soon as he was able. He did not let his handicap stand in his way. He took up riding a special bike and participated in special bike marathons.

However this enemy from within may be his undoing. With God there is always hope as this site has proven time and again. I ask for prayers for God?s will to be done and that He provide much needed peace and strength during what may be his final journey in this life.

May God Bless,

Danny

Danny-

Your friend has my prayers. I am glad he chose to fight it with chemo. You never know what may be around the corner as far as treatments, and any time he can buy is a good thing.

You have mine going out to him. I lost my mom the same way, minus the accident. She was told in April and passed in August. He must have some strength left if they want to try chemo. They told mom they'd kill her trying it with her. :(

You and your friend have mine Danny...

You and your friend have mine Danny...

I am at a loss for words other than to say that I pray that he will get better and not the alternative. You all have my prayers, hugs and blessings...Harrybaby:eek:

Only in God's timing!!!!

Only in God's timing!!!!

Danny, "The doctors say it is terminal." How many times they have been wrong!! Noone is terminal until God says it is His time for Roger. As a four year cancer survivor I personally know the power of prayer and the "peace that passes understanding" which is possible to experience when we place ourselves in His care.

I pray Roger will experience good results from the treatments and God will turn this awful cancer to something good in his life and use you to help him through these stressful days!

My prayers will be with Roger as he faces this. And my prayers are also with you, Danny, as you stand by him as a friend and co-worker. LINDA

Danny, he sounds like a wonderful man. It's hard to know such people go through so much but they must be the chosen ones to show the rest of us the way it's done. We all know that God has laid the plans and His will is what I shall pray for and that all will have peace no matter which way it goes. God bless them all - and you for being a true friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with Roger, his family and you, his friend. I know how much they help, they got me thru cancer 11 years ago and heart surgery 2 weeks ago.
As said before God has his plan but so often we don't understand it.

Barb,

When I went in last night I asked him how things were going he said "it's terminal". I told him we are all terminal and it is up to God as to when, where and how. He has fought before and I expect no less this time. Only God can control the outcome. I know that God's hands guiding my surgeon are the reason I am still able to type this.

Thanks to everyone for their prayers.

May God Bless,

Danny

Roger, prayers and hugs are coming your way. It's always so hard to go through this with a special friend. Like you said only God knows the time. I pray that God will direct the hands of the surgeon. Please let us know how things go.
