Arriving at a little before 6 pm our new little peanut entered the world. Avery Nora, 2 weeks early, has a head of black curly hair (I'm told) and a good set of lungs (I heard!). She weighed in at a meer 5 lbs 15 oz and 18" long. Mommy is exhausted after 20 hours of labor and Grandma is exhausted after only 3 hours sleep total since yesterday morning.:eek:

I'll post pics once I get them. We're flying out tomorrow to lay hands on our new lease on life.:D
 
Congratulations!! 2 weeks early is better than 2 weeks late!! (my third child was 3 weeks late.....ouch!) but 20 hours of labor is no fun. I'm sure they'll be glad to see grandma!!

YEAH she sounds just beautiful, Justin was about that size, it is a prefect size for hugs :) i'm so glad everything went so well and looking forward to pics, lyn

Welcome to grandparenthood! I treasure my grandchildren and am so thankful of the time I am able to spend with them. There is nothing like it. I think you are going to make a great......what are you going to want to be called? My grandson named me Mimi and I thought that was just fine. If he started calling me any of the other grandma names that would have been fine too.

comprehend - being a grandmother - BUT, from what I saw of my parents when their grandchildren were born, it is a spiritual experience. It rejuvenates the soul.

Theres nothing in the world like holding that grandbaby for the first time. I have 9 grandchildren and I can't even describe the feeling of the first time I held each of them. Congratulations and we're waiting for pictures.
