blood pressure monitor

My husband just finished his cardiac rehab program and they suggested he get a blood pressure monitor. Can anyone recomend a good brand? He forgot to ask the doctor.

I have the wrist cuff one and have compared readings at the doctors office and we are always close together. Bought it at walmart.

I have the Omron too...its automatic and a breeze to use.
Its also reassuring to be able to take my BP whenever I want to.
One of our members found a great 'li computer program for keeping track of this info too (the name of it escapes me at present ).

I have a ReliOn. Also from Walmart. Around 5 years old, tested for accuracy against doctor/cardio.

Omron without a doubt. I have one that's gotten old but is so reliable. Bought one for Mother and Brother. Can't beat 'em.

In my old one the bulb went bad. I called the company, gave them the # and they sold me a new bulb. Didn't have to buy a whole new unit. Cost was less than $20 at that time.

I check against my dr's and they match. I took mine in and we compared.

Omron is what we have,too and when my mom was told to get one we bought her an omron also and she is able to use it alone with no problem and the numbers are large enough for her to see clearly.

I echo Omron.. it is very very close.
Also if I were you take it with you when you see the doc or nurse next time and take your own bp and have them take it with their cuff and see how close they are.. usually they are very close within a few numbers.

I'm sorry, you are correct. I looked at the wrong program. The Pocket PC program is only good for 10 uses then must be purchased.
