Hello Everyone,

My wife had her surgery on friday the 21st. The surgery went well and she is in the ward recovering. She had a mechanical valve put in and part of her ascending aorta replaced. She has her bouts with pain but she is looking really good and she is alert. She is eating fruits and things like split pea soup. She did not need a pacemaker and has taken some steps between the bed and her chair in her room. She is getting plenty of rest and receiving lots of love. I will post again soon and keep everyone informed.

Sig,
So glad to hear things went well for Leah! I'll keep you both in my thoughts and hopefully, you'll be home soon. Kate

Thanks so much for letting us know and please pass along our good thoughts and wishes to Leah.
Get some rest yourself now - you have to be exhausted also.

Glad to hear Leah's doing well. Let's continue to hope & pray for so uneventful a recovery! For me the pain was definitely the worst part, and the morphine only managed it somewhat. When they switched me to Demerol, things started looking up. My situation was more complicated due to the need for a pacemaker however. Leah's situation will be simpler for that reason. Again, tell her we are thinking of her!
