I'm taking metoprolol, 25mg, 2x per day. I've had my HR up in the 150's for a short time riding uphill, but that's it.

Mtkyak, I was wondering about weights. I was planning on starting sometime after 12 weeks. I'm not in any hurry, so It'll be sometime this fall. I feel like I need to strengthen my upper body and my core after this surgery. I think I've lost a lot in that area.

I was thinking of doing some Nautilus circuits 2x a week. I've never been much of a weight lifter, so that should make sure I hit everything and do it correctly. What are you doing?

Someone else recommended yoga or pilates to me. Never tried that either. We'll see, if I have time this winter maybe I'll give it a try.

Dude, you're making me look bad. Running at three weeks? I'm only walking, and just a little, steady, steady. In cardio rehab, just started.

I forget, you're HOW OLD? If you're 60 I'm gonna puke 'cause I'm 55 and everyone is telling me how fantastic I'm doing and I sure as hell can't go jogging!

Pre tell?

I'm 30. For the record, it's more of a shuffle than a run or a jog, especially at 3 weeks. By the way, how are you feeling temp?

Adam,
That is great, you are blowing me away. If I run my HR in the low 130's I can go forever (let's me average a 14.5 mph pace) if I bring it into the upper 130's I start to get tired. I have not tried running yet, I prefer trail running, but I am back to doing long very hilly hikes with the kids again. Yesterday I did a trail with an average 6% (15% max) slope and then went over to Helen GA and walked the town.

I will not lift weights, that's what the kids are for.;)

I am of course 9 years older then you so I will use that as my excuse.

If you walked in Helen yesterday..you are cured.:D I drove in to get money out of ATM machine...walked my dog on the riverfront for 5 minutes and was exhausted when I got home. Just the traffic alone, wore me out....I think it was the hottest/humid day all summer. ..Where did you find a parking space?.I park across from river at the Dollar store..Most regular parking takes a good 10 minutes to just walk up to the main street. Adam/ Mike..yall are brave, too. It's been so hot the last 2 weeks in Ga. and S.C..... Just don't know how yall can do it:confused: I have been walking my dog at 7 a.m. at 70 degrees...Yesterday, it hit 99 degrees........He was panting after a 5 min. walk and me, too.(around 11 a.m.),..Bonnie

P.s.

P.s.

Just looked at the temp. on my profile at bottom. ..81 degrees at 6 P.M..and we live in the Mountains.I'm sure it is much hotter in Atlanta and Charleston, S.C.....Take care. Bonnie

Hi Bonnie, We cheated a bit, we parked at the train store on our way up from Unicoi and then had dinner at the new Italian restaurant (I know, Italian in Helen - seems like it should be against the law). Then we walked over to Hansel and Gretel to get some fudge uhm I mean candy for the kids. We drove to the little amusement park down the other end of town, since they have their own parking lot it's no problem. So it wasn't as impressive as it sounded.
