A friend was nice enough to e-mail me a picture of CHD Quilt #35. Both Katie's and Cort's (knightfan's) blocks are side by side on Row four, blocks one and two. Hope the picture is not too grainy for you to see them. Bet you can't guess which one is Cort's! Katie's has musical notes because she loves to sing and perform, baby looney tunes, and Dora, of course. :D For you moms of chd kids and you adult chders, if you haven't requested your block you really need to. They are amazing. Every block represents a child or adult with congenital heart defects and they are now working on quilts 45 and 46,and there is a lengthy waiting list. The site is www.chdquilt.org . Hugs. J. P.S. Cort, the "friend" was Cathy S. She is so wonderful and amazing.

It's just magnificent and what a wonderful idea. So glad that Katie and Cort are right next to each other!

What a great thing to have in common!
It is a beautiful quilt.:) :) :)
Where is it hanging?

She EMd me a copy, too :). You beat me to posting ;). He he he. Yes, Cathy is wonderful and amazing. I met her at the CHD Golf Outing in Sandwich IL last September. Actually, met a lot of the heart kids and heart moms last year ... hope all of 'em will be back again this year!

BUT ... she didn't tell me Katie and I are next to each other ... how COOL :).

The rat! :D She emailed me back and told me that she had beaten me to the draw. And I thought you knew that about yours and Katie's blocks being on the same quilt. Katie's was actually already pieced into a partially done quilt, so they ripped it out and put it next to yours. I think Gabrielle or Cathy had something to do with that. They are gems. many hugs. J.

Sorry, Mary...........

I'm behind, as always. The chdquilt organization is based in Taneytown, MD, and the quilts are housed there most of the year, but any heart group can "check" the quilts out to show. Annually, they have one big quilt show featuring all of the quilts. Hugs. J.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing your children's blocks and for sharing the sight!

That they are. I met Gabrielle (along with Cathy and the other moms/heart patients on that CHD Webring site) at the CHD Golf Outing last year in Sandwich IL ... had a blast :).

Hmm...and if I knew about our blocks being together, I don't remember it. I suspect Cathy and them will tell me they told me this last year ... but, danged if I remember ... he heh.

Hey, Cort...........

Gives real meaning to the "Tear another little piece of my heart out, baby!" Since your the music wizard, I figured you'd a picked up on that one. Heehee! Hugs. J.

Gee Janet, I was at the quilt show and saw Corts and it must not have clicked that Katies was next to his or maybe I just forgot- my mind is going!

It was SO neat to see the quilts. They are big. At least bigger than I expected. And they are beautiful. Sadly there are so many who have passed on. I met a couple who's son had a square on the same quilt as Andrew's who didn't make it. They actually were taking the quilt to show at a heart camp in Virginia.

I don't have any digital pictures of your quilt but I did video nearly all of them so I will pay close attention to Katies this time. I was so overwealmed with all the quilts I should have looked up several names. It went kind of fast and I was there until all was packed up.

I met Cathy and her husband Steve and Hailey. And Kelly who hosted the show in Indiana. I am sure I am forgetting others I can see them in my head but the names...

I just added a picture of Andrew's quilt square but it has been changed since this one. I must have the new one somewhere on my computer but don't know where. He had his defribulator implanted after his squre was made so now on the left there is an EKG blip with a lightning bolt. One of only three that I saw at the show.

I received an email yesterday that my block will be on one of the next quilts.:) Here is a picture of the block they have made for me. Being a firefighter for 24 years and also like to work with wood, I think they did a very good job with it.
I have seen Cort's but didn't realize that Katie's was on the same quilt.

Its a neat quilt square Dave. I believe I saw it last week as well. They had all the quilts squares hung up even those not in a quilt yet. Yours looks familiar but I of course didn't recognize the name.

I remember reading that they were going to be on together. ;) ;)
What does that say, when I remembered that you two were suppose to be side by side, and you don't??????????????????????

*sits back, and waits for Cort's answer*

I just received the update from Andrew's carepage about his square. It's wonderful to see.
Are any of the others (VR members) on quilts---Justin, Matt, etc?

*shakes head*

Mary Mary Mary .... ya know, I can't keep EVERYTHING straight ;). Heck, I have problem remembering some people's names.... Hmph. At this year's MC Nationals in TN, several people came up to me to say "hi" ... whom I've met previously ... and couldn't remember their names if my life depended on it :(.

*sighs*

Janet,

Yep ... I'm familiar with that song ... it's by Faith Hill.

cocoalab,

Glad you were able to meet Kelly and Cathy and several others. One of these days I'll get to meet you, too. Are you considering attending the CHD Golf Outing in September? And, that is an AWESOME block for Andrew!

Dave,

Awesome block for you, too! He he he ... love the fire ;).
