I was in touch with her sister throughout yesterday. He came out of the surgery room at 5:30 in the evening. Long surgery, but the surgeon told her that he is doing good.

This morning she called me and was in joyous mood. She told me that he is wide awake/alert, they removed his breathing tube, he is sitting up on his bed, took apple juice, watching TV, chatting...

I'm sooo happy for him. Wanted share this with you all.

Great news and thanks for the update. Please give our best to Mike should you talk to him or his family. Praying for an uneventful recovery.

Update on my previous message

I visited him in the ICU at stanford yesterday (15th). He was sitting up on a chair next to his bed. It was amazing to see him sitting in a chair the very next day after the surgery. It gives me a great deal of confidence about our surgeon (Dr.Miller) and the team at Stanford.

He was very alert and in a cracking mood!!!. He greeted me in a loud voice. He was asking for Ice tea and ice cubes. He was chatting with me for nearly 40 minutes. His vitals look good. He is giving me lot of assurance about my impending surgery on 20th. Our stay at hospital might overlap a few days.

This afternoon (16th) his sister called me and told me he is sleeping most of the day and everything looks good.

That is wonderful news about Mike! And I am so glad that you made the effort to report his condition to us and that you have been able to see for yourself how amazing modern medicine really can be!

Mike!! Great job! Best wishes for continued success!

:) Marguerite
