Creams andOils to Help Scar Healing

I know a lot of people like to wear their scar with pride and it will fade with time but I was wondering if anyone had had any success/could recommend any of the creams and oils on the market which help with scar tissue?

    Insomnia after surgery

Hi all Just got home last week after surgery and complications - 6 weeks in Hospital not nice. I wanted to ask if insomnia is common and if anyone has any experience of relieving it over the obvious reading a boring book. I am back at work and just can't get to sleep at night and am worried...

Anyone in the UK been "bumped" more than once?

AAAAHHHHHHHH - just got home - again - from being bumped for the second time. As if the waiting and build up isn't hard enough, to keep having it put back again and again - on the day of surgery each time - is intolerable. At least this time it is only 5 days as opposed to a month, and they...

I have just been reading around the site about my impending BAV replacement plus Aorta replacement surgery and there is a lot of talk about getting the best surgeon. Also in some of my recent posts the same thing has been recommended. I am in the UK and I know there are a few UK users on here...

Anyone in the UK been "bumped" more than once?

Hi - I just had my surgery date changed - on the day of surgery. Not sure if it is a usual NHS thing here in the UK for OHS or not, so thought I would post on it and see if anyone else has had the experience. Reasons for being bumped off the list were: 1 - they had some emergency cases come...

    Panic Attacks

Hi Gerard - I want to post back to you to let you know your situation is not dissimilar to mine. I think it helps to know that there are others out there that are close in age, location, activities, and worries to yourself. And of course, you and I are not alone - this forum is full of people...

    Aortic Dilation/Replacement info needed

Hi My Surgery has just been postponed for a month due to an angiogram showing I have a 6cm dilated Ascending Aorta. They are recommending graft replacement for the dilated aorta whilst I am in for my congenital bicuspid aortic valve replacement surgery (supposed to have been yesterday). I...

    Taking Warfarin and diet

Thank you so much guys - the thought that it does not affect your lives as much as I feared and you have not found it as complicated as I was thinking it could be, is very encouraging. Ross - I like your points to remember very much, thanks. Catwoman - understanding that it takes 72 hours for a...

    Taking Warfarin and diet

Hi Lisa Thanks for the response and the welcome. I have no outward symptoms but my Left Ventricle has increased in size recently. I have just re-read my post and the times frames are a bit mis-leading - sorry. I was diagnosed just over a year and a half ago (recent to me) and was told I...

    Taking Warfarin and diet

Hi - I am new to the site and I have been reading through it - but there is so much here I thought I would post my question while I ploughed on looking for my particular concerns. I have been diagnosed recenlty (and unexpectedly) with Moderate Aortic Stenosis and Regurgitation (only 40 years...
