Ross... good news on the foot! I am hoping that they found the right remedy to speed up healing!
You know the combination of pain and medicine can just make some people mean..not to mention.. the trauma.. the loss of dignity (you know being a young kid like that ..and dependent on others is tough on the ego) sounds like Chris just doesn't do that combo well... Maybe things will begin to get better this week:eek:

Thanks for the updates..
As for the Ohio laws.. that sucks..but it seems to be the way it works out.. the victims aren't the ones with rights often times in this country.. ..

Hi, Ross--
Just checking in and wanted to let you know your family is still in my prayers. How awful that there are still obstacles to overcome!

Hello everyone. We need a miracle right about now.:( It appears that the graft is dying even though there is a good blood supply to it. The Doctor hasn't thrown the towel in yet, but it's no longer looking promising. As you can imagine, Chris is very upset. I feel like an idiot for trying to realign his thinking by telling him that I'm just happy that he's alive. People can live active lives without a foot. I just don't know what to say anymore. :(

If the doctor hasn't thrown in the towel yet, don't you either. I don't know what it would take to set it right, but it's not over till it's over, and it doesn't sound like it's over just yet.

You have my prayers.

Now Ross.....there is nothing for you to say, but we can say alot.....

Just sit back bud, and let all of us here on VR.com do some heavy praying, and we will really be praying that this horrible event doesn't take it's toll on your health or your wife's health. God, I sure wish I were there to give you a hug and a pat on the back. Your in all of our hearts and we have Chris, and you on our minds all the time...(I know I do) Prayers and Thoughts really going out strong.....Harrybaby:eek:

I haven't either Nancy. There is still some pink in the middle of the thing. I'm hoping it's just bruised and angry and that the purple that is creeping throughout it, soon turns back to pink.

Dear Ross and Lynn:

I cannot imagine what you are going through. You seem to have handled yourselves in such an admirable fashion. Just remember, you are doing the best you can, Chris is doing the best HE can, and the Dr. is doing his best as well. You can't ask for more. I join others in praying that there is a turn around for your son.,

Oh Ross, I am praying that it takes, but you are right- he can live a very active life without a foot and you are only doing what all parents do- accentuate the positive! Sending you all our prayers and best wishes.

Dear Ross,

Dear Ross,

I havn't been around here for several weeks and am trying to catch up.
Our youngest daughter is pregnant with her second child, she started bleeding episodes during her third month. Grandma and Grandpa trying to help out with her two year old so she can get the rest ordered by her doctor.
Then I start reading and found your posts regarding the horrendus things that have happened. I am so sorry and will certainly keep you and yours in our prayers.
Rich

Hi Ross, Just wanted to let you know I am still thinking of you and Lyn and Chris, and pulling for all of you. Sure hope things get better.

Ross, our thoughts and prayers are still with you and Chris and your family. There is hope in God and He still does miracles. We're believing with you.

Sorry I havent been around lately, I want you to know I still have your son in my prayers.

Ross, i am sorry things aren't looking real good right now, I'll keep praying for a miracle. I wanted to mention the pain,Chris is having. Has he talked to a pain management doc? If not I would try to get one involved. I have a really bad back (even has a spinal stimulator implanted for pain which i found out last week is broke :( and go to a pain doctor, i'm on several different big time pain meds, but they only work for certain kinds of pain, other times, I can have a earache or when I had my gallbladder out that the meds i am on didn't help, but advil did, so maybe a pain doc could suggest a different family of pain meds for Chris. With the pain he is having I'm sure that isn't helping his mood either, it is really hard to be pleasant when you are in pain, so I think it would be worth a try, Lyn
ps NOW definately isn't the time to mention it, but i watch the amazing race and this season there is a girl who has an artificial leg and is just incredable, she does iron man events,
I pray that Chris comes thru this with 2 working feet, but if not it will be hard both physically and enmotionally, but he is your son, so i am sure he will make the best of it

I don't know any comforting words that would help to ease the pain you are all going through. Wish we could each take an hour of it to relieve y'all. It doesn't work that way, tho - all we can do is be vigilant with you and pray for some miracles. And to let you know we love you.

Lyn the problem is, the boy has had 3 surgeries in 3 weeks. He no sooner gets to feeling a tiny bit better from one and they have him in surgery again. Now the big deal is to wait and see if this is going take or if it has to be amputated. He may be in for fourth very shortly, then perhaps we can talk with a pain management person. I guess I'm saying it just isn't possible right now.

Keep the faith, Ross.
This is something you have no control over, so give it up to God.

The hospital just called. They are stopping Chris' diet after breakfast and preparing to go back into surgery. The Doctors assistant is with him now and she does not like how the graft is looking at all. She said there is still good blood flow to it, but there is clotting beneath it and she's not sure what the Doctor is going to want to do when he sees it this afternoon.

That's all for the time being.
