I had to think about this one for a while bc I wanted it to be a serious "wow" moment.. and I came back to the first thing that I thought of when you first posted this.

Good topic btw, Gina.

I remember while in the hospital postoperatively (AVR) feeling such severe pain and nothing would help it, I lay flat it was excrutiating, I could not move without being helped to one side or the other and got absolutey NO sleep for days on end (although no one does anyhow in the hospital). We tried several narcotics, then took me off all narcotics, then tried the NSAIDS, and even and NG tube to see if that would help...After a few days the pain FINALLY began to wane and this is when my 'wow' or 'aha' moment came!

I remember feeling a sort of elation at the resolution of the pain; that any difficulties I had in life were trivial relatively speaking, to what I had just been through, that people go through such horrendous physical (and/or emotional, psychological) pain, and to be free of this was incredible. That I should make count every moment..

I wish I had remembered this feeling enough to pull me out of the recent slump ;) You all helped with that one!

Somewhat along the lines of the one I noted last time, I visited my First Gen MC club message board and found this:

[Note the Quote Of The Week at the top right corner.]

The thread, ironically, is about the son of a buddy of mine ... who has been having some heart issues recently :(.
