Hi all, I will be having surgery on May 16 mitral valve--St. Judes and am intersested in home testing. What is the most efficent ways to make this happen?Step 1, Step 2, ect...

Step one--Have the surgery and depending upon your insurance company, you may need to wait up to 90 days before they'll qualify you for a unit.

Step two: Get your Doctor to write a prescription for it. All the necessary forums and such can be gotten at the link below:

Step three--Get the paper work into your insurance company or work with QAS on getting your unit.

thanks Ross for my step one, step two. I have printed the forms for the InRatio test kit.out to take to the hospital next week. Is there and advantage of one brand of home testing kit to another?? If so, where can I find the same type of forms ofr info for the other brand?

At the moment, there are only two to choose from. INRatio or ITC Protime. Coaguchek is coming out with a new model sometime soon, but how soon, I have no idea.
