Hi all,

Figured I would drop in. Im sure there were a few people here who were wondering. I had my AVR this Mon morning and made it through without a hitch. As I was told by my surgeon, my surgery couldn't of been "less eventful". On the table for 3 1/2 hrs, nothing happened that was unexpected or unordinary, everything went very smooth. From what was indicated, I woke up much quicker than what the expected, about 2 hrs after the surgery was over. Immediately had my breathing tube removed and began my next few days of recovery in the hospital. Got home yesterday (fri) afternoon.

Now for everything sounding great and fantastic, let me start to vent and complain.........:) actually, not feeling up to it right now. But there are a number of things I'd love ot get some response on when I feel a little bit better. I'll be re-poeting soon.

Thanks again for looking in and the prayers, keep them coming

Jay

Welcome home and to your new life. Textbook surgery and recovery so far, but don't over do or you'll find out how nasty things can be.

Hey Jay,

We love those "boring" surgeries. (I envy you getting the breathing tube out so quickly.) Welcome home. Best wishes for a smooth recovery. Take it slow and easy. Look forward to hearing from you as you go along.

Congratulations and welcome home- looking forward to hearing all about it when you have more energy!

WELCOME HOME, Jay!

It's good to see you posting again :).

Thoughts/prayers for a continued SUCCESSFUL recovery.

Jay,

Welcome home. Hope things are going well and we can help with the little things that are bothering you.

Take care.

Hi Jay
WELCOME HOME!! Glad to hear everything went so well for you. Now just take it easy.....remember the motto: walk, walk, walk, nap, nap, nap, breathe, breathe, breathe.....

Where did you have your surgery done in NY? Tyce had his done on LI at St. Francis. He, too, had his tube out quickly after surgery. I remember seeing him in the CICU about 4 o'clock from a noon surgery, and his tube was out not too long later....maybe 45 minutes. Maybe that's how they do it in NY because he was in 4 days, too....in on Wednesday and out on Sunday.

Much continued good luck in your recovery.

Evelyn

Jay,
I'm glad to hear everything went well with your surgery. I hope you have a smooth recovery.

Oh Jay, so glad to hear this news! You must be very relieved to be on the other side. Thanks for being an example of a testbook surgery!
