Attended the final training session for home monitoring. Roche sent a new box of strips and all the checks were made resulting in an INR level.

Obviously nothing wrong with the monitor. That's a good thing.

Yeah, well, what was your INR? Inquirying minds would like to know? :D

Hi Ross,

Inquiring minds should be and will be enlightened.

So here goes.

Veinous draw 3.4 Coaguchek S 4.4

The instructor maintains there will always be difference and there has always been, but never a difference of this magnitude.

Warfarin dose remains the same and will check again myself within a week. So we will see what ensues.

Cheers

Lance I know the Doctors hail their lab tests, but honestly, I think those lab tests are more inaccurate then the machines are. I wish you could've seen some of the whacked readings I got from veinous draws. One day, two different labs, huge difference in results. I've come to the conclusion that INR is always going to make a person wonder just what it really is. Truly the reading is only good for that particular moment in time.
