    Exercise not progressing as planned

Thanks for the replies and all the encouragement. I guess I'll tell my trainer to take a chill pill and quit making me feel like there's something wrong with me. I have gained a lot of muscle (I can actually see some of them!) and am focused on the lifestyle change and not the weight loss. I...

    Exercise not progressing as planned

Not sure if this is where I should post, as I have not had surgery (and am no where near needing it). Over 4 months ago I joined a gym and got a trainer. She put together a program for me and I have been very faithful to go 4 times a week for at least an hour (2 hours on Saturdays). The...

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY stephanie38

Thanks everyone! I'm going for my annual echo tomorrow with a new cardio, so I'm hoping for "no news." I don't post often, but still read quite a bit. Thanks for thinking of me! Stephanie

    MRI required

I too had read about this study about the connection between BAV and cerebral aneurysm. I have had migraines for 20 years, so at my last appointment, I asked my neurologist and she said aboslutely not there is no connection there. ????? I really wish doctors could get on the same page.

    Random question about heart failure

Thanks for all the responses and the information. It's always comforting to hear the explanations of things and suggestions from all of you. Larry, I very much appreciate your explanation of LVH. My doctor turned out to be a real jack-wagon, but I knew even he would have told me if I actually...

    Random question about heart failure

I don't post often but have a question about something I noticed on my last two echos. There is a notation of NYHA Class I on them. There is no mention of heart failure in any of the findings or doctor notes. Is this just a blank that is filled in and everyone gets a 1? My history is a BAV...

    "Animal House"

I'll see if I can attach a picture! We got Linus from the pound in Feb. He has put on about 35 lbs since these pictures. He is deaf and soooo sweet.

Hospital or wait for cardio appt.?

Thanks for the replies. It does help. I think I freak out when I do have the symptoms, but they are really only when I am doing something, like cleaning house, or lifting grocery bags. So I think my plan will be to be still and and wait for Tuesday.

Hospital or wait for cardio appt.?

I posted a few weeks earlier with my test results from February and everything looked great, except for a note on the report of Grade 3 diastolic dysfunction, which the doctor did not mention to me. About 2 months ago when I started back on the treadmill I started having a little dizziness and...

    Niaspan

My husband takes Niaspan and he sometimes has problems with the flushing. It mainly occurs when he's had coffee or something hot to drink at night or if he stays up too long after he's taken the meds. Hope this helps.

Got test results - what do they mean?

Thanks everyone for the interpretations and responses. I'm not one to worry about what's not there, just like to be informed. I will follow-up with my doctor about that diastolic dysfunction thing, I can't imagine it's anything serious if he didn't even mention it to me. I also want to thank...

Got test results - what do they mean?

I really don't know what to think about that. My first cardiologist told me I had moderate to severe regurgitation and a BAV and needed to be checked every 6 months. My 2nd cardiologist told me I had nothing wrong at all, all valves perfect, no reason to come back to a cardiologist. The...

Got test results - what do they mean?

Not worried about anything really, I had just posted earlier as being a new member and everyone suggested that I get my test results. I had gotten conflicting information from 3 different cardiologists, so I am still trying to figure it all out. Thanks for taking the time to read it all!

Got test results - what do they mean?

I finally got them, but have no idea what all these numbers mean, although they look good to me (seems they are within the normal range). I know we have some experts on here, so please give me your input. Sorry it's so long, and I apologize in advance if I misspelled something. Thanks...

    new and have questions

I have taken everyone's advice and ordered the records from my doctor. All the tests were done in his office, so he shoud have everything. I'll let you know what they say. If the shortness of breath continues, I will definitely contact him. I've just started back on the treadmill, so I...

    new and have questions

Thanks for everyone's replies. I have been having some symptoms of shortness of breath and dizziness, especially on the treadmill, but have just written it off as being out of shape. I will continue to watch that. Of course it could all be in my head - I can talk myself into just about...

    new and have questions

Hi all, I have been diagnosed for a few years with BAV with mild insufficiency (or regurgitation - I'm not sure the difference, if any). I have scanned many of the posts and have learned a lot - a lot more than at the cardio's office. I seem to have a difficult time questioning the doctor. I...
