    So surgery is scheduled for Valentines day on February 14, bright a and early, surgery is at 7:30am and I have to be at the hospital at 4:45am. Also have a ct scan on February 1 to check on the aortic aneurysm.

    so after being in the waiting room for 10 years, my cardiologist has given the green light to take care of my bi-cuspid aortic valve (stenosis) and ascending aneurysm.. I have not posted in awhile, but I will try to be more faithful in the future! Now I need to pick a surgeon and hospital...

    I have been in and out of this forum since may of 2008. It sure helped me with my questions as a newbie back in 2008. I have been in the waiting room since then. Friday I got word that it is time to schedule the surgery so now the anxiety starts again! so i am sure that I will be back more often...

    great response Pellicle, my cardiologist keeps saying the longer we can wait on the surgery the greater the medical advances might be (and are) Also in the states, we use double size rolls of tp as there is so much more to wipe off.

    my aneurysm took 8 years to go from 4.6 to 4.9, so it could be years until he needs surgery. valve choice is influenced by many factors including your age at the time of the surgery.

    thanks for the input, my cardio at this time only wants yearly checkups, I plan on asking for a 6 month checkup. I think I will also set up an appointment with a surgeon to get his opinion.
