Mechanical vs Tissue - need help deciding

Concerning the tourniquet- The nurse who came to my house to demo the meter told me NOT to tourniquet. I wasted so many test strips. I then went back to pellicle's video and started using the tourniquet and have been 100% on the first strip EVERY time.

    Tissue vs mechanical

Opinions all over the place on this. At 59 1/2, my surgeon, Dr. Thomas Gleason said, "I'll put in whatever you want, but I recommend mechanical". Lot's of wonderful/informed people on this forum; some have tissue valves, others mechanical. Do your homework and make your decision. Good luck!

    Tricuspid Valve with no Calcification

Just as a reference, all my echos and TEE's "seemed to indicate" a tricuspid valve, but after my AVR my surgeon said it was indeed a bicuspid valve.
