Is it possible to get off Metoprolol?

WOW, that's a great idea, unfortunately my Cardio would probably have a heart attack if I suggested it!!!!! LOL. I think the second opinion is in order at this point, but I really like your idea. Too bad you are not my DOC!!!

Is it possible to get off Metoprolol?

Thanks Bina, Nice to hear from you! It's sad that our own intuition is side stepped. When we know how sensitive our systems are and truly want a drug to succeed, why wouldn't they do whatever they could to encourage us?? Am going to see my PCP too. might get a second opinion from another...

Is it possible to get off Metoprolol?

I would think so, but not sure he would go along with that. Comm. break down at this point. When I asked if the 80mg was the lowest dose avail he said yes, and when I dropped off the Rx the pharm said there was 60mg. I called the nurse and sent email asking to lower the dose just to see if i...

Is it possible to get off Metoprolol?

Inderal LA??? Inderal LA??? Anyone have experience with Inderal LA, or the generic Propanolol? I was recently prescribed 80mg. Inderal LA (got the generic) and cannot bring myself to start taking it. After reading the laundry list of side effects and issues, I am not feeling comfortable...

    Tiredness 9 months after surgery

Yuuuuup on the fib/flutter issue. I am in what they call a flutter type pattern and will probably be for life. I am 7 mos post op, and I too feel tired regularly. (The busier I am, the better I feel, cuz my mind is actively thinking about other things ). I am on Warfarin, and vitamins...and...

Just Purchased CoaguChek XS Unit Need to Know What Accessories I need?

Hi Bina, Julian...everyone...!!! It's been way too long. Thanks VR.org for the birthday wishes last week! I have been thinking about home testing. This is the deal: Was bridging from some minor surgery recently (2-21). The team kept me on the Lovenox for 10 full days (started on the 18th of...

"Double Heart Beat" and "Tickling Sensation in Chest"???

Julian, I have the same issue with the breathing in thing. It just gets faster and stronger when I take a deep breath. Sometimes I try practicing my 3 part yoga breathing....and ease into a deep breath, just to work on building up my lungs and getting my heart more used to it. I think it's...

When Valve Goes bad and Surgery is refused.

Holy crap!!!! What is it with Doctors?? Even if you are asymptomatic for the most part like I was...Dude!! Bottom line seems to be similar to a blown tire...pull over and fix it...or you will be replacing more than just the tire!!! Thank God I got a second and third opinion....but only...

Does a dilated left ventricle shrink back to normal?

I've had holes and leaking valves for 52 years. After several years of struggling with A-Fib and getting a second opinion, a botched ablation and matters made worse by a second HOLE from that, then a THIRD opinion...and a final FOURTH from which I heard again I did indeed need surgery, I can...

    heart MEDS moods!!

Ron.... I personally dislike meds, however some, we cannot go without. I take Vitamin D3 for moods. Google it if you want more info. Most Doctors are very open minded about this Vitamin at least in improving mood and mild depression. My fib/flutter is continuing after surgery, and I just...

    This is just getting ridiculous!

Like Hook, I had P Hypertension related to my leaks....MV, TV, ASD's and the AV too. At the end it was not good at all. Once the valves are repaired/replaced it should or could improve from what I have been told. A-Fib tends to make me tired, not the PVC's...or PAC's. Are you on Multaq? I...

    Why choose a mechanical valve?

Bina, Doctor is HAPPY!!! Not worried about the rhythm, putting me back on Multaq for 4 weeks (trial), then redo holter to see if it helps. If not, I could try cardioversion, different meds, or just wait it out and see for awhile.... He said i am doing very well, and he is happy!!!!! I feel...

    Headaches after reducing Atenolol

To the skipped and fast beats....I too, was in AFIB, more than once, and had MAZE at my surgery. I am having long bouts of sinus, and then "flutter" type rhythms....skipping, etc. many times thoughout the day. My Cardiologist is fine with it as long as I feel good, (which I do.) I am going...
