    Celebrating 4 years anniversary. Heart function is back to normal. cardio is very happy; switched me to seeing once every two years. Went with mechanical valve as I was 37 at the time of surgery. No issues with using warfarin. Very active. Plays tennis, golf, bikes 20+ miles a day in summer...

    Completed two years. Cardio is haapy that heart function (including EF) is back to normal. He took me off of Metoprolol which gave me all sorts of side effects first one year. No issues with coumadin management barring occasional highs and lows of inr levels. -Kumar

    Scar redness

    Hi, I just noticed that my scar became slightly elevated and red in parts. I am almost 6 weeks post-op. It is a bit itchy also. Do any of you saw similar thing? Is this an infection. Should I call the surgeon immediately. -Kuma

    Cough & cold - post-op

    Hi, I am 4 weeks post-op. AVR with mechanical valve. I caught cold & cough (seasonal allergies /flu ?) from my wife. No temperature yet. Should I be concerned about fluid build-up. Should I call my care team (pcp/cardio/surgeon) if it prolongs for more than 2 days? -Kumar
