Metoprolol (aka Lopressor, Toprol XL) Side Effects

I'm scheduled for a check-up on the 30th of July at Mayo and will certainly address my issues. I'm glad that I'm not the only one experiencing strange things as a (possible) result of the Metoprolol. Larry, I too am feeling tired all the time but have not been checking my HR and BP regularly...

Metoprolol (aka Lopressor, Toprol XL) Side Effects

Thanks for the comments so far. I was just reading an old post from someone who thought his ceiling fan was a witch flying around the room. When I was first home, I had the fan turned off because it really freaked me out at night. It's on again but I still wake up thinking it is some kind of...

Metoprolol (aka Lopressor, Toprol XL) Side Effects

It's been a while since I posted anything. Now at 17 weeks post surgery, I am doing well. I need to exercise more, or should I say at all, but none the less, I feel good. My only complaint is with sleeping. I routinely twitch, toss-and-turn, have nightmares, talk, sit-up and hit since coming...

New to this side of the mountain!

Welcome to this side! Glad to hear your surgery went well and that you are in the telemetry unit already. I'm sure they have you walking and eating while sitting in a chair. Hopefully in just a few short days, you will be on your way home. I find it hard to believe that I'm feeling so well...

    Having surgery soon!!! **HELP**

TonySung, First welcome. While I did not have minimally invasive surgery, I was walking really well only days after surgery. As for staying near the hospital, that should not be necessary. I live 5 hours away and made the trip 5 days post surgery without issue. Some people do like/love their...

    Home @ Surgery + 6 Days

Got home yesterday afternoon and I have to say that it is a huge relief to be home. So far, I've not had any complications from my surgery. I was in ICU for one day and spent 3 in the step-down unit. The level of care at Mayo was tremendous. That left me only to focus on getting better and out...

    It was a success!

My chest tubes were pulled last night before bed. The sensation is one of pulling but with no pain associated with it. Afterwords, it felt like there was something missing from my chest. Slept on and off but still getting little real rest. Just had my pacer wires pulled. That was an even...

    It was a success!

I've been in the step-down unit for a day now. Sitting to eat (liquids) and walking several times a day. I'm really surprised how smoothly things are going. Should get the tubes pulled today. My incision looks good, too. Amazing staff here at Mayo. Thanks to all!

    Now 2 Days & Counting...

First of all, I would like to thank everyone who has sent prayers and thoughts my way. Finding this community of people has been great. I'm getting ready for dinner shortly. Then try and get a good night's sleep. I'll have my better half, Chris, update the post-surgery forum tomorrow after...

    Now 2 Days & Counting...

Well, I've arrived in Rochester for my surgery on Tuesday. Am anxious to get past the waiting and to the procedure. The waiting these past few weeks has been difficult but I'm glad to have had the time to put things in order. I've decided on the Bovine paracardial valve after much...
