I talked to my cardio and they are putting me back on a water pill for a little while. Hopefully, I will need it just for a little bit. I wonder how many people after having an AVR have to take a water pill?

I only took Lasix for the first week after coming home. I have been weighing myself, not everyday though. I have noticed that I have been gaining some weight, but dismissed it because of the holidays. I will call my cardiologist and let them know.

I had my aortic valve replaced and a pace maker put in 4 weeks ago. I am still having swelling in my feet and legs, just like before the surgery. I was wondering if anyone else had experience this after surgery and if this is something that I should mention to my cardiologist?

Mine was discovered in 2005 and I will be having surgery to replace my aortic valve on Oct 30th and will have the aneurysm repaired at the same time. When it was first discovered, the aneurysm measured at 4.2cm and now is at 4.6cm.

Total time for surgery. My surgeon stated the pump time would be one hour. I forgot to ask him the total time for the surgery....

Hey everyone! I found out that my insurance will not cover Dr. Kouchoukos (He's not in-network). So my cardio and myself are researching the cardiothoracic surgeons at Barnes-Jewsih in St Louis. If anyone has had any experince with one of these surgeons, please let me know. Have a great day!
