I do home test. My internist's office said to stay on lovenex once my INR is over 2.5. I thought maybe I should increase the dose from 6 mg to 9 for a few days. I'll follow your advice and continue on lovenex and 6 mg until I'm in range. Thanks all for your advice. Roberta

I went off of coumadin on Friday 6/28 to get ready for a colonoscopy that I had on 7/3. So here was my schedule: 6/27 last dose of coumadin, 6/28 nothing, 6/29 - 7/2 lovenox only, 7/3 - 7/6 lovenox and resumed coumadin. I checked my INR this morning and it was 1.1. My range is 2.5 - 3.5 and...

I have a second/third grade class of special education students. We made corned beef and cabbage yesterday in an electric roaster at school. Some of the students are from cultures where they never would have food like this. They love it! It was a fun day. Roberta:) :) :)

Thanks for all your advice. I asked one seller about the return policy if the strips were from a bad batch. The reply was that they are the same strips he sells to doctors and they were not from a bad batch. He also sells lots of other medical supplies. Roberta

I see that ebay has boxes of Hemosense INRatio PT/INR strips for sale. The expiration date is 9/08 with a cost of $217.50 and shipping charges of $9.84. Do you think its safe to purchase these? The price is good and I haven't met my insurance deductible yet. Thanks. Roberta

I called Hemosense and they sent me a new box of strips. I went to the lab yesterday and tested on my machine right after they drew blood. My reading was 1.7 and theirs was 1.9. That's pretty darn close. It must have been a problem with the original strips, so I'm back in business again...

My doctor's office told me to bring my INRatio machine in this week to compare their test with mine. Today my machine said 2.6 and theirs was 3.3. They told me to come in and test again in one week and have my machine checked by the company. That's what I'll do I guess.

I just retested with my Inratio machine and the result is 2.6. I'm not going to cut my dose and I'm going to assume I'm in or near my range. I'm not sure if I'll go in to the doctor's office to retest there next Tuesday. I will test at home next week. Thanks. Roberta
