Where are you getting your supplies?

@MaryLM beat me to it but, yes, they appear to be based out of Gainesville, Florida, USA. I assume shipping costs would be a bit.. excessive?.. to the Land Down Under. They do mention that "All of our product ships from our own stock - we do not drop ship." which, assuming is accurate, is both...

Where are you getting your supplies?

Late as always but I started my self-check journey with Reliaston. Purchased one of their kits with the CoaguCheck and 48 strips and was not asked for a scrip or doctor's approval. Thank you, capitalism!

Thought I was done with CardioNet

These are seven different monitoring fees adjusted after insurance, $62.26 per line item, dating back to September 2022. I'll have to check my state and insurers bylaws on this, thanks for the suggestions.

Thought I was done with CardioNet

Spoke with a nice representative who, obviously, said there was nothing they could do. Even with the terribly inefficient and wasteful US healthcare system I find it hard to believe it would take 1.5 years to finally end up at BioTel/RemoteINR. My wife said to just pay them $10 per month but I...

Thought I was done with CardioNet

Closed my account last year after moving to home testing (thanks in no small part to the members of this site). Made sure my account was up-to-date and fully paid, meter returned, all boxes checked. Surprise of the day was two bills from CardioNet for monitoring and supply charges dating back to...

Back on the merry-go-round, or just caffeine?

Great to hear things went so well! Hopefully this alleviates (or at least reduces) future issues and you can get back to life without arrhythmias.

Back on the merry-go-round, or just caffeine?

I've been on magnesium supplements for years and can't say it's made a difference in arrhythmic occurrences. But maybe I would have had more problems if I wasn't on it. One of life's great unknowns, I suppose. Best of luck with the ablation! Make sure you get your frequent customer card punched...

    Medication question!

That's essentially the approach I'm taking based on the way metoprolol affects me personally. My bi-annual bouts of tachycardia do not seem to have a trigger, or at least not one we've been able to identify, and have occurred when I've been both sedate and very active. Although I'm sure tachy...

    Medication question!

I started five weeks ago following the trip to the ER for afib/tachy. I seem to be in the group that has some adverse reactions to the medication. The succinate initially did not have noticeable side effects but over the past couple of weeks I've experienced symptoms consistent with its use. My...

    Medication question!

I had an episode of afib/tachy prior to vacation last month (gory details in another thread) and doctors prescribed 25mg metoprolol succinate twice per day. I definitely felt some negative effects (sluggishness, low HR, cold feet) but it was not as bad as the tartare I had been on a few years...

    Fun evening interrupted

Just to put a bow on this (in case anyone is interested), I survived and had a fantastic trip and am back home after a 20 hour flight. Two days after arrival in Bangkok my heart self-corrected and for the duration of the trip my rhythm and rate were perfectly normal. The heat and humidity are no...

8 year AVR anniversary with my St. Jude mechanical valve

Congrats! You've got some years still to catch up with my 27 but let's hope we both keep ticking for many decades to come.

    Fun evening interrupted

Best of luck, we're 20 hours in flight time (thanks to a last minute airport delay) and waiting at Changi, Singapore for the last leg to Bangkok. So far I've been able to run from terminal to terminal without collapsing so that's a good start to the vacay. Cheers!

    Fun evening interrupted

I wonder if I was on tartrate previously, the initial reaction was much more pronounced than the succinate that I'm now taking twice daily. Sitting in Incheon after a 14 hour flight and my RHR never dropped below 75 (when normally I'd be in the 50s or 60s). EP already said we'll discuss another...

    Fun evening interrupted

But if I get another punch of my cardioversion card the next one is free 😁 They put me on 25mg succinate and my regular EP said to take it twice daily. The last time I was on some form of metropolol I had brain fog all day. Seems like this one is working better but will see how I am in 35C...
