Anyone Elect Surgery Where Surgeon(s) Were Saying Wait?

I mentioned in another of your posts that I got a lot of conflicting opinions. My aorta was at 4.4 cm, soooooo close to where many would recommend surgery. My valve was an equally grey area. One doctor told me I needed surgery in the next few weeks. Another doctor told me I could wait 20...

    vision problems post op

I have gotten this once or twice since surgery. But then again, I also used to get the exact same thing before, maybe once a month or so. In the past it has been a precursor to a mirgraine, so I always take it as my cue to pop a few Excedrin and I usually avoid the headache. Hopefully as you...

Post-Surgical Question For Aneurysm Repair Folks

I never really did most of those things before, but no one said I wouldn't be able to afterwards. I don't see any reason you wouldn't be able to continue the lifestyle you have now. Obviously there will be a lot of restrictions at first as you are recovering, but in the long term you will...

I had an aortic valve, and the ascending and aorta arch replaced.

Yep, I had the same surgery 4 weeks ago tomorrow, except that I had only part of the arch replaced. It seems like my 2nd and most of the 3rd week post surgery were surprisingly easy and pain free, but now it is starting to be more painful again. Probably because I have been more active. I...

    Spitballing here

I was just reading your posts from the other day and I remember being in the same situation a month ago. I had 4 or 5 different opinions, all from top cardios and surgeons and all said something different, from "you need surgery in the next few weeks" to "you can go another 20 years." I did...

when will I feel back to normal

I've been sleeping in the bed since I got home, but then again I don't have recliner. Just last night I tried sleeping on my side using a body pillow for support and that went pretty well.
