After years of stable numbers joining planet fitness is lowering my INR it seems

Thanks all. I am beginning to think it is the exercise. The nurse that does the testing mentioned the possibility of getting an in home tester. The last time I looked into it, the copay was going to be a little difficult for me. We've changed insurance. It may be better now.

After years of stable numbers joining planet fitness is lowering my INR it seems

Hi all. It's been a long while since I've been here. The new site looks good! I'm a 53 year old male. 10 years ago I received a St. Jude Mitral valve. Within a year, we had my warfarin numbers pretty stable with only an occasional adjustment. Everything has been hunker-dorey as they say. I go to...

Made it 9 years without a hitch...

Went well. Nothing found. Lovenox wasn't the most pleasant thing but I dealt with it. I'd say the drink the night before was the most unpleasant part. Thanks for your encouragement!

Made it 9 years without a hitch...

It's been nine years since I had my mitral valve replaced with a St. Jude. Got INR/warfarin dosage stabilized fairly soon thereafter and short of a handful of warfarin mg. adjustments to coincide with my weight loss, I've almost been oblivious that I had the surgery. I've hit that time in life...

    Younger patient = more pain?

Old lady was putting me to shame Old lady was putting me to shame I had MVR on the same day of this 80+ year old lady. I could barely walk the hall because of so much pain and she was zooming by me. She had also had 2 bypasses with her replacement. I asked why and the nurse said that older...

    Sleeping Meds??

Lunesta Lunesta I take a half a lunesta some weeks. Others I can go to sleep on my own. I have noticed that I wake up several times a night when I don't. I tried the melatonin and benadryl but they didn't work. Insomnia started about 6 months after MVR.

    Endocarditis and Mitral Valve

antibiotics antibiotics Hi, Yes I still take antibiotics before any dental work. I had endocarditis and suspect a cleaning as the cause. Parts of my "vegetation" broke off and lodged in my brain causing a TIA stroke. 6 weeks of antibiotics flushed it all out.

'Visual disturbances' is it a Mini Storke?

visual disturbances visual disturbances I agree with Pamela, but for what it's worth... I had a TIA or mini stroke due to endocarditis about 6 months before I had my mitral valve replaced. It was right after the stroke I started having ocular migraines. These block my vision as well. My PCP...

    relacore and warfarin

Hi, I've been dealing with the anxiety attacks and lack of sleep a lot of other VRs have experienced since their heart surgeries. A friend told me he uses Relacore, which is advertised as a dietary aid, for anxiety and relaxation. This stuff supposedly utilises vitamins and some bark extract...

    Bridging

I'm guessing you're doing the lovenox yourself at home? I'm guessing you're doing the lovenox yourself at home? Since you're in M'boro what hospital are you having this done? Sounds like they know what they're doing. -Marty Smyrna

Should I be concerned about "some thickening"?

Thanks Debi Thanks Debi I guess it was a nurse that gave the results to my wife. She said it was nothing to be concerned with, that it was fairly common. But years ago my slight prolapse was "common and nothing to worry about". I'll make an appointment with the Doc and see what he says...
