Hi All,
Had my pre-op heart cath today and learned that aside from my aortic stenosis everything else was normal. For those who have not had one and are fearful, it was completely painless and seemed, to me, to be a piece of cake. The only discomfort comes after the cath when the local anesthetic wears off and the local incision spot in the groin becomes sore. I've taken some tylenol, and that helps. It's really nothing to be worried about.
Anyway, at least I know that I have no need for any bypasses or other interventions. Met my surgeon, and gotta tell you his bedside manner sucked, but the nurses were all saying he's a great surgeon. So, in 39 hours I'll be having the AVR surgery. My daughter will got on a post a note on how I did.
