I volunteered to help Hank get the St. Louis annual reunion organized, and I could use some input from those planning to attend.

If you will, please respond regarding hotel room preference (Figuring someone may be staying with friends or relatives and might not need a room), and if you would like a room with two double beds, two queen sized beds, or a king.

All things being equal, would you prefer to stay at a downtown location, midtown (near Forest Park with its many free attractions), or on the outskirts.
If we stay downtown, parking will be extra. If we stay further out, we can always carpool.

The dates are March 11 (Wednesday) thru March 15 (Sunday). If you have an idea of which days you'll be in attendance, it would help with the room count. If you don't, don't worry about it!;)

I did not vote yet since I don't know yet whether I'll be able to go, and if I go whether I'll be alone or with my husband.

However, having lived in St. Louis for about 18 years, I can say that if I go, I would prefer midtown near Forest Park.

Adrienne,
I should have mentioned that anyone who is considering attending should mark choices too. Would you mind voting?
Thanks!

Well, in keeping with what the only 2 other voters have done so far, I voted:

I prefer a hotel room---------King sized bed, but anything short of a roll out or couch will be fine. :p I guess I would also enjoy a roof, lights, a TV with more than one channel, running water and toilet, locking door (for YOUR safety), clean sheets and towels and FREE WI-FI. Nice to have would be a microwave and refrigerator but I?ve survived without before. Oh yeah, 5 star quality at 1 star prices too.:p That should about cover it. Well, now that we are still in discussion phase, not the same hotel on the same week-end as the local high school, college, or any other very young wild and crazy crowd might use. I did not mark the "need more than one room" because I don't but would consider "SHARING" with the right person or persons (with Peggy's approval of course).:p:rolleyes:

Having never been thru or around St Louis (well maybe OVER in a plane) I don?t know the pros and cons of ?downtown, midtown, and/or outlying suburbs? so to help in the planning I voted for ?all (or any) of the above?. We gonna hang our hats where everybody else does.:D

God willing, Peggy and I will be there 11-15 of March.

May God Bless,

Danny :)

Mary, PLEASE take note that Gadgetman HAS indicated running water. So rain water will do for him, so forget about the hot water working in his room. LOL

O.K. I just did. I put "king size bed" in case my husband comes and put "I need a ride from the airport" in case I go alone (I hate driving and have no sense of direction)!!

I may be able to swing it afterall. Relocating within my metro area. In short, the event I would have been paticipating in...would not be as crutial to my business. Not 100% certain...but it is looking better.

Shuttle buses available to the airport are very important. It sounds like there will be many folks flying in.

At this point...it is cheaper to fly than filing up my SUV for the round trip! Can fly for 100 bucks I beleive. Also, enjoy a glass of wine in the air!

I anticipate flying to STL after work that Thursday and staying on into the next week, which will be spring break here for my husband and when I usually take a week of vacation.
Don't know if I will be staying with my niece or not yet.

Mary:

Last weekend I was in Indianapolis and chatting with someone from St. Louis. Mentioned the March 09 reunion and she said she works at the St. Louis art museum. Started telling about loads of places for sightseeing. I'll e-mail her to get info on exhibits during the reunion, should anyone be interested.

Sounds great, Marsha. Thanks!:)

hi mary! hi all!
joey and i have missed the last few reunions, but since our youngest daughter is a senior at wash u, maybe i can convince him to come. i would love to come (with or without him), but have to check with my daughter to make sure she is around.
if this works i/we will most likely stay near our daughter's apartment where we usually stay in clayton.
hope this works. would love to see some of you again and meet newbies.

Small world!

A friend of mine, a daughter of someone I know from my Monte Carlo circles, is also at Washington U. Er, at least, I think that's the school she is attending in St Louis....
