I would like to ask for prayers for my FIL. He has been in hospital since Sept 23 for gallstones. His gallbladder ruptured and now he is in septic shock with multiple organ failure. While running tests also found he is critical need of quad bypass with 95% blockage. Reason all this happened, his INR was not watched and when admitted to hospital for surgery found his INR to be 8.5. While trying to bring it down, gb ruptured and he is now in critical condition. Dr.s called his family in at 10 pm last night, but he managed to pull thru. We don't know Gods plan, but I do know this wonderful man does not want to live this way. He suffered a stroke 5 years ago and is paralysed (sp) on his left and has been miserable ever since. Prayers requested so that at least he won't suffer anymore than he already has. He is in delirium, but has managed to come to enough in the last week to say several times that "everything went really wrong didn't it"

I am so sorry. I will say some prayers for him and all the family. I hope whatever God's plan is for him will be a gentle plan.

God bless.

Prayers you have. I fail to see how bringing the INR down would cause a rupture. Something tells me it was building and undetected for far too long.

Our father who art in heaven, hollowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be doneon earth as it is in heaven.
I kept saying these words over and over until my mom left this earth for her heavenly peace and I somehow got through it all.
My prayers are with you and your entire family.

Thank you everyone. No change today, they are keeping him sedated and he is stable for now. You are right Ross, wasn't the INR that caused it, was the fact that his Dr. dropped the ball. He has been complaining of stomach pain for months and the ER DR. figured it out and referred him back to his doc. but he neglected to make the appt with the surgeon. Took a trip to the er in a larger town 40 miles away. And now we may lose him over this.

I just found this. I am so sorry about your dear one. He sounds like he has some spunk and maybe that's why he came back. My prayers are that God's will be done. In the meantime, bless all of you.

Well guys, we just got from from seeing my FIL in ICU. and all I can say is " He was taken off vent, alert, breathing great, they think they are getting the infection under control and he wanted the tv turned on to the football game !!! He also said to my husband and I " I've got to get back to you" !!! Absolutely incredible and I thank everyone again. My husband prayed for the first time in his life last night and today he is a believer. God is great !!!
