FYI:

Nestlé Prepared Foods Company is recalling approximately 215,000 pounds of frozen stuffed pepperoni pizza sandwich products that may contain foreign materials.

The following products are subject to recall:

* 54-ounce, 12-pack cartons of "HOT POCKETS PEPPERONI PIZZA" brand stuffed sandwiches. Printed on the side of each carton is "8157544614D," "EST 7721A," and "BEST BEFORE JAN2010." Each carton bears the USDA mark of inspection.

The products were produced on June 5 and distributed to retail establishments nationwide.

The problem was discovered after the company received consumer complaints. FSIS has not received any consumer complaints or reports of injury at this time. Anyone concerned about an injury from consumption of the products should contact a physician.

Consumers with questions about the recall should contact Nestlé Consumer Services Center at (800) 350-5016.

foreign materials.

"foreign material"? That could be absolutely anything.

We rarely (if ever) buy pre-packaged foods. Only frozen vegetables. The same can be said for Restaurant foods. You just never know what is being done to your food or what motivates people to do such.

Just so happened that we had Hot Pockets in our freezer, and when our youngest got home, he grabbed one.
I yelled, "Don't EAT IT!", but after checking the side of the box, realized we had a different batch and fearing another recall might be imminent, he quickly consumed it!:D:D

I just tried the 800 number a couple of times, to find out what the "foreign material" might be. The number isn't currently working...

I hope this isn't going to become like the issue a year or two ago where the melamine was in so much of the pet foods...

---------------------

I just got through... Small red pieces of hard plastic and small pieces of clear rubber-like material in the food... Not a good thing... The recording didn't specify whether the foreign material was reportedly found in the pepperoni specifically or elsewhere or just generally within the Hot Pockets...
