Thanks everyone

Thanks everyone

It is great to be welcomed to the other side. I am sooo happy to be here. The water is coming off, I lost 6 lbs last night. I am using my spirometer alot and coughing. My left lung is better today so I will just keep it up till it is all clear. I am weighing myself several times a day so I won't let it get away from me. The combination of the Lasix and Metolazone really did the trick in pulling the water off. I have been able to walk more than double the distance I did yesterday now that I can keep my breath better. I had the stiches from my chest tubes removed today and that feels so much more comfortable now. I go for another INR check tomorrow. It was 4.1 monday so I wasn't allowed to take any coumadin today. My valve ticking sound isn't bad but it beats with alot of force yet which is really distracting. I hope as I heal it settles a bit or I just get used to it quickly.

Thanks to all!!!

Hi Jody,

Glad to hear you are home and doing well. Take it easy and focus on recovering. Let yourself be pampered!:)

Jody!!!

Jody!!!

I'm so glad to see you posting. Your mom is a sweetheart and I am so grateful for her taking the time to call and update. I still have Katie's "card" here. I swear I will get it in the mail soon..........my famous battlecry.............. anyway, so glad to see that your recovery is going much better this time around. I told you I would make you a Bove believer. Many hugs. Janet Oh, P.S. Expect fluctuations in your INR as you start eating more and moving around more, but should eventually stabilize. Except for the occasional stomach bug, Katie's INR stays pretty much in range. We upped it recently but that is because she has grown so much and her INR was staying in the low end of the safe zone (for her 2.5-3.5. I think yours is probably 2.0-3.0) I really wish they hadn't had you hold a whole dose of coumadin as that could cause you to drop too low. A half dose probably would have been better. As you get to feeling better, go do some reading in the anticoagulation forum and on Al Lodwick's site. It is very informative. Oh, and watch out for hidden vitamin K.

Anyway, glad you are home safe and sound............well, almost sound. Hugs Janet
