The last 3 weeks have not been all that kind to me...computer problems/not being online, personal issues/setbacks, frustrations, aggravations, disappointments, etc.

However, last weekend, I was doing the so-called happy dance Saturday afternoon and Sunday...for a reason at which most people, especially given the high gas prices, would probably scoff:
My older 4 Monte Carlos made their 2008 debut Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1 ... a whole month and a week earlier than they did in 2007.

No, it isn't a normally "celebrated" reason to do the happy dance [you know...girlfriend/wife news, family, personal milestone, etc...society/socially-accepted "norms"], but I was "happy dancing" anyway. It felt sssooo good to be driving the older 4 MCs again, and I didn't want to put 'em back in the garage. Lots of people turned their heads to look as I drove by. None of the MCs had any problems starting or running...so I had quite a few hours/miles of wonderful driving...especially on the outskirt roads west of town, which, sadly, will soon be in town, the way they are building out that way.....

So...how about you? What has caused you to do the "happy dance" recently?

Happy to hear about the MCs - I know how much you love them.

My happy dance - my niece's graduation from high school. She is heading to St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana this fall on a basketball scholarship. I am so very proud of her.

Happy for you Cort..anytime's a good time to do the happy dance!

My happy dance...I managed to buy our family $5 return tickets to Sydney...the kids are so excited as they've known flown! I've never managed to get the cheap tickets...the websites are usually jammed!

Cheers,
Yolanda

I went to Tampa, Florida for a short weekend just to see my daughter and her family. While there, her son, Dixon was playing in a high school football game, so we went. The game was just awful, Dixon's team did poorly, but all of a sudden, Dixon grabbed the ball and ran about three quarters the length of the field for the only touchdown in the game. About halfway through his run he heard "footsteps" as the opposing team member was clutching at his heels, so he just jumped in the air to get away from the grab and went on with his run. He was so happy and so was I.

I told him that the poor performance of his team was not good, but he was surely the hero of that game and got lots of local press.

Plus it was his birthday weekend as well. 16 years old, 6'5", size 14 shoes, a big guy.

Cort, I understand your thrill with starting up the oldies and going for a ride. We love that too.
My hubby is very happy when it's finally spring and his antique Ferguson tractor just sparks right up.
My thrill was Mothers Day, when my goats come back home after a long winter of boarding at the breeder.

Bonzo, you stole something from that site?

I did the dance the other day when I got my car a.c. recharged. It ran out sometime during the winter and week before last I had to go uptown twice and it was realllllly hot so decided to get it fixed. When I got in the car at the shop and felt the icy air, I was beside myself. Well, maybe not beside cause I don't think anybody can really do that, but very happy and COOOOOL.

Well not knowingly :eek: anyway fixed it with another link fingers crossed.

Why should some uptight person from a vintage tractor site get uptight about showing one of their tractors images to a wider audience. ???? Some folk are so precious about the strangest things.:confused:

LOL!

I've often wondered where that expression ("beside myelf") came from. I mean...my goodness, the images that conjures up sometimes.... he he.

So easy . . . catching sight of our son coming through the arrival gate on his journey home from this latest stint in Iraq.
