Well, here I go again. I spent the last 4/5 hours in A&E (ER)....I got chest pain, the pain radiated up my chest and around my neck/throat area...weakness...SOB....weak arms.....it last an hour. I had simply walked about 10ft from my car to the house with some light bags about 8 times (slowly).!!! Truly, I packed about 8 light bags, instead of 4 heavy ones. After about an hour I was still feeling bad so I went to A&E. They did the usualy tests (the bloods didnt show up anything pertaining to a MI) and wanted me to be admitted, but there was no point. I know some people will think this foolish, but Iv been there and done this procedure so many times in the last year or so, and nothing is ever done for me. Before I left the doctor said she was going to arrange for me to have a 'scope' into my stomach....I think that speaks for itself.

I wonder if this is because I am reducing my beta blocker ??

Anyway, Im home, the kids are at their part-time jobs and are none the wiser as to whats gone on, so please God if I rest up, all will be well.....for now at least !!!!

Prayers welcomed.

Oh dear......

Oh dear......

Thank you Jack.

**I'v just had a phone call from the hospital to say my INR is 4.6 ...my range is 2.5 to 3.5.. ..they said I should not take any warfarin tonight....take 1mg tomorrow night and go get my bloods chesked on Tuesday. I normally take 5/6mg alternatively. Does this sound like good advice ?

I would never second guess the suggestions of medical professionals. A bleed out on warfarin can be just a life threatening as a clot.

I would take their advice and then get my INR tested as soon as the lab opens on Tuesday mentioning that my doctor needs the results STAT. He can adjust anticoagulant therapy accordingly and his recommendations can be given over the phone.

The other signs and symptoms are a really good indication that you need to slow down considerably and begin relying on others to get things done. The time for surgery is approaching and once you begin to feel bad, things get worse fast. Like a snowball tends to get bigger the faster it rolls downhill, making it bigger faster; your heart may begin to make you ill with more severity in a shorter time.

My good thoughts and best wishes for a smooth transition to better health are yours.

Pamela.

As a thought concerning the scope into your stomach, could it be possible that the doctor was proposing a Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE)? This tool allows the cardiologist to take echo images of your aorta and heart through a scope in your stomach , with much greater detail than they get with a chest echo.

So, go with the suggestions of the medical community. They wish to help and heal you, believe it or not.

Pamela.

Thank you Pamela, I understand about the TEE you mentioned, but it was definitely a scope to look at my stomach,(the doc actually said to look into your stomach for gastritis) because Iv been having pain between my navel and my lower chest area. Iv had it for years but it never really bothered me until this last year or so. Its a pulsating pain near my navel and the pain/pressure in my lower chest area makes me want to take a deep breath or yawn a lot to ease it. Bizzare, I know.

You recognize the need for a deep breath and yawning to ease discomfort are signs that you're heart function is impaired as well? I am so sorry your doctors are incapable of full understanding of your condition.

I suggest that you sit down and write a list of your symptoms and the incidences when you've had to go to A&E for assistance. Book a double appointment with your cardiologist and ask that he address each one of these items individually and then put them together relative to your disease. Tell him everything, even the anxiety... and maybe at last he'll be able to focus on your complaint rather than your presentation of your problems.

You really do have whatever help my best wishes and thoughts can offer.

Take Heart,
Pamela.

Jacqui, so sorry to hear you've had to go to A&E today. I know how bad you must have felt to even consider going, so I hope you take it very, very easy for the next few days. I think you should tell the kids so that they'll be aware you need to rest for a while. I'm sure they'll help a lot once they know.

As Pamela says, I think writing everything in list form is a good plan. If nothing else, if you present it to someone in white, they'll have to lodge it in your files so it's there for future reference.

Take care Jacqui

Thank you Pamela. What you said makes sense. Unfortunately I wont see my cardiologist for 6 months, but I have a feeling I will see the A&E before then with how IM feeling. 8-/
