In my official Weigh In-Throw Down rule book, on page 1001, paragraph 3, it states: White vinegar is an approved substance for suppressing appetite.

I assume you were asking about white vinegar, Niki? :p :p

ah tried o'derin' th' official Throw Down Rule Book but it said ah needed a commercial address on account o' it had t'be shipped by TRUCK. Seems at on over 1000 poun's even UPS o' FedEx kin't han'le th' shipment.

Karlynn, you and I are on the same page regarding brownies!! I am an admitted chocoholic!!! I can pass up any kind of candy or treats that don't involve chocolate, but put something chocolate in front of me and it's all over!~!!

Hey Ref.....with the upswing in interest in Prune Juice you may have to rethink the banning of said juice:confused:  :D

Did you not read my response to SuperBob in an earlier reply?  ;)

*Any consumption, mention, promotion, procurement, advertisement, inference or allusion to the usage of laxatives in the weigh in/throw down is expressly prohibited and penalties may be levied at the discretion of the referee. Specific mention of the banned substance, prune juice, will result in immediate disciplinary action. p. 1003, paragraph 97

same ol' same ol', no loss, no gain. Thought for sure this week would see a loss, I've been very good - even walking more.

Question: what good does a digital scale do reading to 1/2 pound increments, when it doesn't recognize weight change? I haven't weighed on my dig scale in a while, but thought I would for grins after doing my normal weigh-in. I weighed nekkid, then weighed with my pajamas on - same weight. Well they weren't heavy PJ's but I figured they'd at least account for 1/2 pound. So - I weighed my PJ's on my digital food scale. They weighed almost a pound.

Neither of my scales are good. One can change depending on where I put my feet and the pressure I put on it, and the other doesn't recognize whole pound differences.

I agree with all you've said about your digital scale. I can weigh on mine, move it two inches, and it will read a pound or two heavier or lighter. I have also tried taking clothes off, then weighing, only to have the stupid thing (digital scale) read the same.
But I've found the solution. It turns out that we've been doing it wrong, Karlynn. All women in the Weigh In take note (this doesn't apply to the men :p ) here's how we should record our weight.

I have the sweet tooth curse too. I can pass up chips and pretzels and bread and potatoes. But put a pan of brownies in front of me and stand back or you'll lose an arm!
See, I have the exact OPPOSITE problem... I can resist the deserts without a problem. It's the savory items that I can't turn down. At pot lucks, most people at work go strait for the desert table. Me, I skip it entirely and go back for seconds instead!

Oh, and welcome, Susan! :D Don't let the craziness scare you away (though maybe it's what attracted you? ;) ).

Hello, my name is Cooker and I'm a chocoholic:eek: :D My sweet tooth is the size of Texas:eek: I'm ok as long as I don't start but if I start run quick and by stock in Hershey:D :D ZERO control.

Welcome Susan...we look forward to another sweet-toothed girl here to share the choccy-cookies with :D

Thanks Mary...I am so glad you shared with us the proper way to use scales...no wonder I was having trouble with the numbers not going down ;)

Well its a late checkin as i've been on holiday and it shows...

This week i have gained approx 6 pounds to nullify my initial loss of around 4 pounds.

According to my conversion i now weigh...273 pounds...

My hope that the additional exercise of running around with the kids on the beach would nullify any additional eating and/or drinking has proved to be flawed.:D

Here's hoping for a quick return to the downward slope.

One day long, long ago some of the members of the Weight Loss Throw Down decided that we would donate $1 (one dollar) for each pound that we lost up until the 2008 reunion to Valvereplacement.com. That time is quickly approaching. After consulting with the executive officers of Cooker?s Weight Loss Throw Down LLC, the following process for donations is suggested.

Your total weight loss should be used to calculate your donation. If you started out at 230 pounds and on the 29th of February you weigh 200 pounds then your donation would be $30, or more if you like.

All donations will be mailed to the address below. Please make checks payable to ValveReplacement.com and indicate on your check that its a ?Throw Down? donation.

ValveReplacement.com
2833 E. Isabella Ave.
Mesa, AZ 85204

This is a very small way to say thank you to Valvereplacement.com for all that it has meant to us and for the tolerance it has shown to some of it?s more colorful members.
Every little bit helps. Please don?t think that your donation is too small to make a difference.

Now, this is TOTALLY voluntary. Donations are not a condition of membership in Valvereplacement.com or the Weight Loss Throw Down. Not everyone volunteered to participate in this and some may be unable to do so. There is no obligation. It is just a way to say thanks.

Tom

I did not participate but I have so much fun reading all of the throw down posts that I'm going to send a little something. I think like weight loss every little bit counts.:D

Favorite Low Cal/Fat Snack????

Favorite Low Cal/Fat Snack????

I think it would be good to share low calorie/fat snack ideas with each other. We all like to try new thing to eat and we might have a snack (or meal) that will help break up the sometimes diet monotony that inevitably pops up from time to time. Regional and ethnic variations of the same basic snack/dish might save some one from heading to KrispyKreme for a binge session.:D

I am particularly fond of concocting a mixture of dried fruit and nuts to have on hand. It is not really low cal but it is high in fiber and low in fat.

1 cup Crasins (sp?) (dried cranberries)
1 cup Raisins
1 cup Golden Raisins
1 cup dried cherries
1 cup almonds
1 cup pecans
1 cup M&M?s (optional)

When I get the munchies a handful of this usually satisfies me.

What, no bananas! :p

Good idea to share, but for any Type 2s counting their carbs, such a concoction would not be recommended. Just the almonds would be great. :)

Russell Stovers makes good sugar free candy, if you eat that kind of thing. We like the pecan delights and peppermint patties, and I like the peanut butter cups. I think they have less than a gram of carbs each, and on WW they are 1 point each.

Of course, with sugar free products, you can't each too much or you'll have cramps or worse. Eaten in high volumes they would be probably be banned substances. ;)

Oh no!! The Ref can not ban sugar free candy on a diet thread.......I think you have found a way around the Prune Juice ban!!!! HipHip Hooray for Wise!!!!!!

For those low-carbers - I microwave peperoni slices in the microwave on a paper towel (~30 seconds - but watch closely as cooking times can really vary with each appliance.) until they become crispy chips.
