I am somewhat of an interloper, having had OHS, but not for a valve problem. I have Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and had a septal myectomy last summer at the Mayo Clinic in MN.

Nonetheless, I would be interested in getting together with other heart patients who have had or are facing OHS in the L.A. area as long as you all don't get mad at me for having my own healthy valve (the rest of my heart is more of the problem!) I am in West LA.

well, it seems like there's only a smattering of us folks in los angeles, and we are, like most people here, flung far and wide. with only four or five replys, i'd have to say at this point we can just keep in touch online. keep on ticking, pumping, breathing and LIVING! yEAH, BABY!:D

Hi Racefan, I see your a brand new member, glad you joined. Want to tell us more about your recent surgery?? Hope everything went well and your feeling great. If you want to come down here I'm sure we can get some people together, I'm still in the process of figuring out who lives around here, found 5 people so far. Can't do anything till after christmas I'm sure everyone is too busy! Let's plan it for Janauary o.k. Anyone in So. Cal let me know if your in for the get together and we'll do it! Thanks Debbie
 
Hi Debbie,

Had surgery three months ago at UCLA. Feeling fine now. Felt even better before the surgery! My ascending aorta was about twice the size as normal so I let the docs slice me open. Quite a shock to me and my family:eek: How are you doing???? I noticed you are considering surgery in the near future. I would say a spring get together may work out better.

Hi Kim, thanks for responding. Well looks likes were up to 4 San Diego people and 3 LA people and a few alittle farther north. I'm still pretty new so I still have more people to find in this area. Any one else live in So. Cal. area?? Would like to hear from you. What would you guys think of having our get together at one of our beautiful winery's out here in Temecula? Temecula"s about 50 miles from San Diego & 70-90 miles from LA. Temecula has some great winery's now, a perfect place to spend a Sunday afternoon! Tell me what you think. Debbie:)

It sounds like we are getting a decent size group going. I look forward to meeting all of you. Debbie will you take the lead on this? I think getting together at a winery sounds marvelous. I belong to Wiens, but there are a lot of beautiful places.
