well, not to y'all yankees, I guess.

It was 50 at 7 a.m. Last week or so when we had 50 it wasn't as cold as this 50 is (after the rain). Go figure, but I guess maybe it's because after all that rain (we had about 10 inches of water) the dampness makes it feel a lot cooler. Fall must be about to set in here, but I have not smelled that crisp smell early morning yet. That's always the real signal. The crisp different smell in the air. hOW about y'all?

Ann.....It was 60F here this morning with the high today around 80F. We had NO rain from the last system that came through. We are at about a 17" deficit. Anybody know a rain dance????

Right now.

We still have lots of leaves on the trees that haven't yet changed color. This time last year, they were all on the ground.

Fall is in the air.

Fall is in the air.

We are getting down to the low thirties at night. This picture was taken a few miles from my house but at a significantly lower altitude. I have a bigger version on the blog.

Here in Phoenix/Tempe Arizona, we are enjoying the best weather we have had in a long time. When I went to get the morning paper, I was actually cold. The temperature was 64 degrees. We expect the high today to be 94 degrees. I guess this shows than many things are relative.
Regards,
Blanche

On the other hand, up here in Canada (at least southern Ontario), were back about seasonal. I was out for a walk in just a T-shirt today....in the 70's. Unusual for around here this time of year. Too bad it rained a bit so I didn't get out riding. Maybe tomorrow as the temperature is supposed to continue a couple of day and there's no rain in the forecast. :D

Went to a football game yesterday afternoon that started at 2:00 in shorts and still sweated. Not sure of the high temperature, but at 1:00 it was 86. Thank God for the wind. We had our 4 hours of fall last week when it got down to about 60. Actually, tomorrow the predicted low is 48 and the high is only 70. Sounds like a great day at recess!
