I'm not really retiring completely just from active warfarin management. I have scheduled 18 seminars in Jan Feb and Mar next year where I teach health-care providers how to manage warfarin. I am also going to be doing some talks for the makers of CoaguChek XS to encourage physicians to get people to do home testing of iNRs. Next year there is a requirement that every hospital in the US have a team of people skilled in the management of warfarin to minimize the harm done by mishandled anticoagulation. I am developing a program on my own where I will go out and teach this.

So you can see that I'll not be retiring but moving into teaching/consulting.

Hello Al,

Just wanted to also wish you a very Happy Birthday, and may you have many enjoyable times ahead with your teaching and consulting!
