Well this time last year I wasnt doing too well at all...in-fact they didnt even know if I would make it...I was making my surgeon and 8 other surgeons use all their tricks to get me going again., after 3 Cardiac arrests and a second emergency surgery for a by-pass to get my heart working properly I finally emerged out of the OR after 10 hours OHS.... they had me in a coma and on ice for 3-4 days while they waited to see what degree of mental damage I had suffered....
Of course it all ended happily and I went home on day 11 and havent looked back since except for a tiny problem when I had to have a blood transfusion to boost up my iron supplies.
Its really marvellous how well this human body repaired itself and how quickly I adjusted to the new valve. Everyday is a gift.
I want to thank everyone here who said prayers for me last year when things were not looking so great and for continuing to support me through those tricky early days & weeks.
A special big thankyou to my hero Ross I love you man! and my surgery-sister Marguerite who had a much easier time in hospital than I did.
....and to all the new members take heart in knowing that even if it looks really bad there is still hope that it will turn out perfectly alright in the end.
VR.Com RULES! I could never have made it through so easily without your ongoing support and love.
