Been thinking of my Cleveland Clinic buddy, Atlanta Pat!
I am remembering just how brave a fella he was not only a year ago today, but especially a year ago in a couple more days for OHS #2! WOW!!!!!! He was and still is such a trooper!!!

If you get on here AP, you are the best! :D :D Give my love to your Atlanta Peach and my Cleveland Angel, Patti!

Love,
Deb

I remember very clearly sitting at my kitchen table talking with you on the telephone at the early stages of you working out the details of your surgery.
It was something I enjoyed...... being there to speak with you and trying to help compfort you through the trial of facing OHS.

Congrats on your first year and may you have many many more.

God Bless,

Ben

Thanks, all, for the good wishes on my one year post-op milestone! Lord knows I couldn?t have done it without the encouragement of my family and the people on vr.com.

I just saw this post earlier today. I?ve been out of town, out of email?s reach and, at times, beyond any cell phone service, spending Spring Break camping with my sons in north Florida. That?s a good indicator of and testimony to the skill of the pros at the Cleveland Clinic: that I can wander beyond the boundaries of modern communication technology without a worry and come back without so much as a palpitation to report :D

My first anniversary once-over is set for April 17th at Emory University Hospital. In spite of some inconveniences with a-flutter and cardioversions, my heart?s recovery since discharge has been steady. I?ve had to acknowledge and make adjustments, however, as a result of some pumphead issues that have a noticeable effect on my abilities at work. I don?t process or adapt to rapidly changing info or multi-task like I once could, but I work for and among decent and compassionate people who seem to accept me as I am now

Debbi, you?re the real trouper, to have faced what you did last year with such poise spoke volumes to Patti and I about the stuff of which our friend is made.

Ben, you were so right about Dr. Smedira. He?s truly one of CCF?s heart surgery MVPs.

Thank you sweet man. My so called poise and strength came primarily from my precious friends and family. Never could have done it without you and so many others!
Ya know I love ya! It's so good seeing you on here! :D

AtlantaPat,

It is certainly a blessing to work with people who are understanding and helpful:) :) . It sure made my adjustments back to work much easier. You stated youi went camping with your sons in North Florida. Where did you camp? My family and I have cammped in several places in North Florida and portions of Georgia.
