Keeping my fingers crossed that you get home on Monday to that first shower!

I'm so pleased that your successfully thru you operation, and I will be saying a prayer for you that the fluid problem is resolved quickly.

Best Wishes

I am off the O2, so that means I was able to take my first shower this morning. I feel much better. When the Dr took me off O2 this morning, she said I could leave this afternoon or wait and see how I will handle w/o the O2. Well I really don't want to have to re-admit again, so I chose to wait until tomorrow and check out then. So the plan is to bust out of here tomorrow and sleep in my own bed Monday evening. There will be no more waking up about 10 times a night. That will be almost as good as the first shower this morning.

Perkicar,

My Cardiologist is Dr Stewart, Dr Petterson did the surgery, tissue valve, and Dr Hammer is the Hospital Cardiologist. Other than ICU, I have been on floor H-80.

I see we have more to share than just being from Louisville. It seems you and I both have radiation damage from Hogdkins. Good to hear you are doing well these past two years.

Dr Hammer was my mother's cardiologist when she lived in Dayton. (He was in practice there). He is wonderful! My mother LOL, thought he was a looker (I don't think she said "hot" but that's what she meant! I was so surprised to see him on the staff up there. My cardio there is Dr Griffin; and I saw Dr Shiota when I was imprisoned the second time (with a pericardial effusion), can't remember who I saw the first time, in addition to the two nurse practitioners. It was a constant parade of folks through the room starting about 5:30 am when they came to draw labs.....No point in going back to sleep.....
Glad to hear you're feeling so much better! Where do you live in Louisville? I'm in St Matthews, off Westport Rd.
Yes, I too can thank Radiation Therapy for my needing heart surgery, as well as saving my life!
Welcome home tomorrow!

Perkicar,

I live in the Highlands near the Douglas Loop. I am close enough to everything and when I want to hit the trails on my Mtn Bike, it is a 1/2 mile then I can hit the dirt in the park.

Early on I remember reading what you had to go through since your issues are very similar to mine. I want to thank you for leading me to CCF so I can have one of the best take care of me.

The plan is still to have me back in Louisville early this evening. I look forward to have my cat on one side and my wife on the other this evening.

Mark,
I'm posting this because I'm sure that you will be home by tonight!:)

Mark, I'm glad to read that things have improved a lot since your first post. I know you will be glad to get to home, sweet, home. Best wishes!

When I was discharged from the hospital in November, I found myself re-admitted six days later because of all the fluid build up. I was on interveneous Lasik and I lost 28 pounds of fluid in the four days I was there. I could get up from the recliner and the toilet unassisted then so I felt much better. My fluid was in my legs, lungs and around my heart. It was very hard to go up stairs or get up from a sitting position until I lost all that fluid. Of
course, it has been 4 months since the surgery and I've been back to work for
a month now and I feel much improved from before the surgery even. Marcie
