I haven't been around for a while and thought I would give you Valve Recovery Folks that are sitting at home something to read, especially the ones up North in the cold.
HERE WE GO.
We decided to have a canoe built for us since my boat won't go any shallower than 12". Yep, we want to fish in mud puddles.
The place that we fish is next to Cape Canaveral called the" No Motor Zone" It is a long way from the ramp so we need some help getting there. So we load up the canoe on my boat and head off on our journey.
Once there we unload the canoe and start our journey.
The wind was light out of the NNW and the Sun was having a hard time warming things up. There were very few signs of life with a cold chill over the NMZ.After the long trip we reached our destination to find no one home. The wind started to pick up and switched to the North. We decided to turn around and head back as the morning grew older. We took turns trying out the new fly rod on our way back, that we had purchased Friday night and were having some fun with it.
After blind casting for quite a while on the way back I finally got a hit on a Gulp Shrimp which was the only hit of the day. She was a nice Red that fought hard with some good runs for a middle slot fish. It sure felt good to hear that familiar sound of the drag sing again.
Here's some pic of the trip:
My youngest son Joe poling me around in 3" water
NASA Assembly Biuldings
The Hookup
The Catch
The Release
Sorry it was so long. As you can see I love fishing and I love Florida Winters.
