Just want to get a head start on wishing you well Jackie as I know you are going in for the angiogram on Thursday and the surgery on Friday. I hope you are planning something fun and distracting for this weekend and that you start to feel the peace that everyone describes when you walk through the hospital doors. You will do fine and we will all be here waiting to hear the good results. Godspeed!

Just wanted to add my well wishes and prayers to everyone else's. I'll see you on the other side.

Jan

Jackie,
My prayers are with you and all those involved in your care.

Peace of Christ,
Don

Well, here's goes nothing! :D  :)

I can't thank you all enough for your kind thoughts and prayers. I found out last week that there are people who are praying for me all the way over in Africa! God is so good.

I just can't imagine by next week how I'm going to feel. I am so tired of being fatigued. I can't wait to go snow sliding with my daughter and hubbie and be able to climb the hill w/o huffing and puffing. Probably will have to wait until next winter though.

Now I understand that the SOB and fatigue could be caused by something else, but it's been slowing getting worse that it just seems it has to be from the valve. How does one feel when feeling healthy? Just a rhetorical question--no need to answer! :p That part makes me excited. It's been 12 years and it's finally here.

My husband has set up a Caring Bridge site if anyone would like to have any updates. www.caringbridge.org/visit/jackiebeach This way he doesn't have to make a zillion calls and emails. He'll start posting on 2/15.

God Bless You All (I was gonna say God bless you everyone, but . . . you know. . . )

See ya on the other side of the mountain,
Jackie

Jackie,
I know how scared and anxious you feel right now, I remember those feelings myself, but knowing that God will go with you, I'm sure you'll be back home and feeling even better than before surgery in no time at all.

I was looking for a poem/e-card thing that gave me a lot of comfort before my surgery to send to you... but I can't find it!

Oh well, you do know that you have many people praying for you including your church family here at home. And who knows...maybe we'll even get down there to visit you because: 1.) I've never been to the Mayo clinic. 2.)I have a cousin that works as an RN at St. Mary's and of course 3.) The biggest reason to make the trek to Rochester... "The Golden Corral Buffet":D ! Just kidding, but it might help me talk Ray into driving down there with me.

Hang in there Jackie, it's beautiful on the other side of the mountain!

We arrived at the hospital at 5:30 this morning. Jackie is now being prepared for the surgery. The surgery should begin within the next hour or so. Thanks for the continued support and prayers.

We're thinking of you Jackie. Glad to read that the angiogram yesterday went well too!:D

Jackie made it through the coronary angiogram well. When they were moving her into bed, she did bleed a bit from the artery in her leg that they did the procedure through. She is resting now for an hour or so. She will then have to walk around the hospital for an hour to make sure she is not going to bleed again.

After an appointment for the final details regarding the surgery tomorrow, we should be able to go back to the motel and take it easy for the evening.

Thanks for posting those updates; that's a neat system. Hope all goes well for Jackie!

Jackie's operation is successfully complete! She is off the heart-lung machine and her heart is working well. It will take an hour or so to close up the incision and bring her to the intensive care unit.

Jackie arrived in her intensive care room at about 12:30 pm. We met with the surgeon and he said that everything went very well. She will be in the ICU for 12 - 24 hours. She will then spent 5 to 7 more days in a recovery room as she begins the healing process. There are a few pictures from the last two days posted on the photo page.
