Hope all of our fla. members are safe..many counties hit by strong storms..Let us hear from you...Mainly around the orlando area...Bonnie

It might be awhile before anyone in the area has power . . . what I saw on tv looks really bad. I hope all are safe. As Bonnie says, let us know when you can.

We are watching this on Fox News right now. It looks like extensive devastating damage. Sending prayers out for the victims and their families.

I have relatives and friends scattered all over the state but I don't think any of them are just north of Orlando. It rained all day yesterday here in the panhandle and into the night. Hard rains. Our little two rut dirt road has a lake in it with pot holes at the bottom making it hard for us and the two families on this road to get out. Mail lady told me it was horrible weather wherever she went yesterday. We were under tornado watch until 8 pm. I pray that the people who were damaged will have shelter readily available to them. How horrible.

We had MAJOR rain, our 15 ft. fishing boat was almost sunk, the backyard canal was way up and streets flooded. Apparently we had some tornados go over us about 3:00 a.m. but I was sleeping  Most of the damage was about an hour south of us.....crazy night!!!

I just called friends of ours in Sebring.....they're safe and said the tornados were about an hour north of them.....definitely more around Orlando....It has been on our TV all morning.....scary.

I hope everyone is safe...

I hope everyone is safe...

I have friends in Cape Coral and Central/Northern Florida and I hope everyone effected by these tornadoes are safe and OK...Harrybaby:eek:

I have talked to my 'adopted brother' and he tells me it touched a little of Ocala and parts east of there and north. He's above West Palm Beach and is fine. I don't think I have any relatives in the part of the state that was directly hit. I have been a tornado victim and you just cannot believe the damage it does. I was not an occupant of the home of mine that got hit. The sheriff called me at home and told me to come out to my property and I was just in shock when I saw it. Contents were found miles away! Trees that were hundreds of yrs old were up by the roots. Barn parts were wrapped around trees. People across the highway were pulled from their beds and were either killed or forever after paralyzed from neck down. Two babies, fortunately, were not damaged.

Scary.....

Scary.....

Hope everyone is ok. *Susan glad to see your 'kids' are safe...so true, we NEVER stop worrying about them. Sure glad we dont get those storms here, they are scary.

I was finally able to contact some friends of ours down there.
The storm missed them by just five miles.
I told them they should get back home up here.
It is colder that you know what here, but no storms!

Most people don't heed the weather warning..like..on T.V. this weather could bring tornadoes...They just don't think it can happen to them.....Our town of Helen, Ga. was hit hard after Katrina with a tornado..300 miles from the last damage that day...It just came up and traveled that far..and came down smack dab in the middle of our Mountain (they say tornadoes never hit the mountains:eek..town... Major damage to the surrounding mountaintops around the town and several stores destroyed......Lucky, it moved over to the back side on the river..before it hit the main part of town..Where all the Bavarian shops are located........still, it ruined the beauty of the Mountains around the town..They are still bare of trees and will be for many years.:( After this one in Fla. I told my Hubby..we will buy one of those weather things...only cost $20.00 at Wal-Mart...I think they tell you to put them in your bedroom..after you have gone to bed.....in case..bad wather comes during the night.....Our tornado did occur about 3 a.m. and I did hear the roaring train sound....we live about 2 miles from where it hit....didn't think too much about it until the next morning...when we drove towards town and saw many trucks, ect. blocking traffic.....Had to ask, what happened?..It was days before anyone could go into town............Bonnie
