My Coaguchek S lasted for 2 years of weekly testing before wearing out.

What life expectancy do monitors--all/any brands usually have before they have to be replaced?

My ProTime was still working at 3 (with weekly testing) but my battery was shot. I was given the choice of getting it repaired or getting a new one. So I went with the INRatio. I know others have had their monitors over 4 years.

I had read somewhere that it's good to get them refurbished after 3 years.

I've had this little INRatio since QAS started carrying them. What has been now, 4 years? Couple sets of new batteries, but she's still testing away.

I have had my INRatio for two years. Changed the batteries once. It seems to be just fine.

Protime

Hi
I have had my protime for 4 yrs. and I think it is taking longer than usual. But I took mine to my Dr. and had them run their's and, mine at the same time and they were close to the same. Mine 2.7- their's 2.6. I don't think you can get much better than that. Other than it seems to take a little longer for the results. I wonder how much a new ba

Al got his ProTime in March of 2001. It works fine, but the battery is gone. We have been testing with the monitor pluged in to an outlet. I have been procrastinating about getting a new monitor or getting the current one refurbished. The monitor is the old 5 chanel. Actually, we were hoping for approval of the new Coaguchek model for home use.

6 years already.

6 years already.

I've had my Protime for 6 years, and just paid $350.00 to have it refurbished again by ITC (through QAS). At the moment I am still using a loaner but received a call from QAS last week informing me that my own Protime is on its way home.
I have the older model that can use both the #3 and #5 channels. The battery had to be replaced again as it didn't keep a charge very long and I remember that was the same problem a few years back. Hopefully the battery problem will have been resolved when I start using my machine again.

I've used my Coaguchek S for a little over 3 years now and it's showing no signs of getting tired. I've traveled with it a fair bit so its not led a terribly pampered life. I'll most likely carry on with it until I start to hit problems - then look at the XS.
It could be that storage conditions affect the life of the unit - e.g if it's in a bathroom in a particularly humid/steamy environment. Mine lives on top of a kitchen cupboard, so it's not exactly steam-free, but it does reside and travel in a Tupperware box so should be sealed off from any nastys.

3 years is pretty good "S"

3 years is pretty good "S"

So it takes a licking and keeps on tickin e.g Timex.

A fellow user in England was issued his when he left the hospital following MVR surgery 6 years ago.

So mine wearing out after just two years seems to be the exception. It stayed in its original black fabric carrying case, inside the cardborad carton on an armchair in the dining room, so maybe not pampering them is the way to go. It was in the black carrying case in my carry one so wasn't jostled by the baggage handlers at the airport either.

Mine broke down while it was still under warranty and so my new XS (that I'm very happy with) cost me less because I had to return my original to Roche.

May you get good sticks well into the future with you S.
