When you come on..which thread do you go to first?.I always go to bottom and check out birthdays..and who is having their surgery..under..Upcoming events..since I am late around 5 P.M..checking on VR.Com.....I am always late wishing members a Happy Birthday.....However..I noticed tonight that only 7 members had posted wishing..Michelle/Fred..who are having their surgeries tomorrow.Good Luck ..Only 6? out of 57 views.....Yet..The Which valve thread had 158 replies out of 2,729 views......... Thank you, Eirecara for wishing michelle/Fred good luck on their surgery....tomorrow. I bumped it up..so maybe more can take time to wish them a good surgery.:) Bonnie

I just hit the new posts button and read what might interest me. I need to get better about birthdays and surgeries tho. Thanks for the reminder Bonnie

When I first discovered the site, I pretty much stayed in the "post op" area or used the search engine as I was 14 weeks post op at the time. Once I became a regular, I've been going straight to the new posts section. Someday I should explore the site more as I'm probably not aware of a whole bunch of stuff that's here.

I'm afraid it's New Posts for me, too. I know I miss some things that way, but I only have so much time, and it seems the most efficient way to get to the most current posts.

Best wishes,

New Posts for me. Then pre-surgery to see if anyone needs any last minute reassurances or helpful hints. It's a time thing for me, as well. Those two seem to have whittled down over time to be my priorities.

:D :D You're a gem, Bonnie. You and so many who take care of birthdays and well wishes. Thanks for being so consistent about it.

Marguerite

EireCara's post on pre-surgery was a first post....New Posts,,whatever..How did you all miss it if you went to new posts?...1 day ago?on wishing Michelle/Fred good wishes?..  Bonnie

I start with forum email so that I can go directly to member problems, get new people registered or advertisers banned, then on to PM's, then from forum number one on down until the end.

Frankly, I'm not sure, Bonnie. I corrected that situation tonight. I noticed I had sent along wishes to Adam in the thread EC started for him. And, I try to do so for as many people as possible, but sometimes my time is short here because of all of the other boards I visit each night.... I know ... no excuse ... but, it's just a reality ... since I want to try to sleep each night ;).

And, I've noticed a lot of odd number of posts vs. number of views on different threads. I've seen various anniversary threads get a lot of replies ... others, not so much. Interesting, indeed.

Oddly, I hadn't even noticed that Valve Thread until tonight ... mainly because I try to steer clear of those conversations because of the "debate" that goes on, but I noticed it since it had been locked. Course, as I started reading, I began wishing I had seen it before. Frankly, I find it rather hypocritical of people to argue and sling mud at each other ... while companies get away with murder and nobody cares.

*shrugs*

I go to new posts too. I usually check pre- or post-surgery. I will sometimes respond but usually by the time I get there everyone else said what I would have. I always check Active Lifestyles since that is were I'm really interested in how people are coping post-surgery. I rarely read or respond to small talk but look at the title to see if I could be interested. I like the game things that get posted there.

Kodi even if people have said what you would have, don't be afraid to say what you would. People remember who responded to them!

Always go to new posts first- I usually check in several times a day and figure I'll catch anything new that way. Bonnie, I think that many people may not have responded to the post on Michelle and Fred because they may have responded to the post at the beginning of the week listing all surgeries this week. Some how, I feel guilty when I list all surgeries for a week in one post (the lazy way out). I really think each member deserves their individual thread and send-off over the mountain. We probably should try to do that.

I usually go first to my User CP and see what new posts have been made to previous threads that I'm subscribed to. I think that could possibly be the "new posts" that the others were referring to.

I go to New Posts first.
I hadn't posted on the individual preops because we had the "There are alot of surgeries this week" thread that I had posted on. I also know that many people send pm's to members going into surgery, and don't post on the threads. But I do believe every member should have their own thread, so maybe Phyllis and I can coordinate things to get it set back up.
Many times I don't look at the birthdays, surgeries, etc. until later in the day. That's also when I start posting to various threads that I missed earlier. But you've got my first post of the day in this thread, Bonnie, and I haven't even read the replies to my thread about John, yet!;) :p

Bonnie, I must confesss to not feeling I can take the time to take new folks into my life these days. But I do try to check in on my friends posts regularly. I know the purpose of the forum is to help those new folks, and I am grateful to you for being so diligent! I'll try to do better! Brian
