Dear Nancy,

When I saw the title, I said to myself, "Not Nancy's Joe"!
Like another member said, what a battle the two of you fought!
Both you and Joe have been a big inspiration to me and my wife who became a valve patient only 6 months ago.

We are sending you our deepest sympathy and condolences.

My most sincere condolences to you and your family Nancy. You were a true soldier who stood and fought right beside him. Your contributions to this site have been so helpful to so many of us and were it not for Joe, we would never had the privledge of you and your knowledge.
My thoughts and prayers are with you as you go thru this trying time.
Mel

Hello Nancy,

I was so saddened to see the notice you posted about Joe.

My sincere condolences go out to you. I'll be sure to keep you and Joe in my prayers.

God bless,
Rob

Nancy:

So sorry to hear this! Condolences to you from both Carla & myself. I appreciated your support back when I had my OHS and I know you were the best, most wonderful support to Joe. I'm sure that meant so much to him! Very sorry for your loss.

Chris

So Sorry.....

So Sorry.....

Nancy, so sorry to hear that Joe lost his fight. I haven't read through all the posts but I know I'll just echo what so many have said...that you were Joe's rock and your constant presence and advocacy for him helped so much in his surviving the many ups and downs of his illness. Your encouragement to the many folks on this list was an extension of that caring, and we appreciate it more than you can know.
You and your family will be in my prayers.

Nancy,

We just learned about Joe today. Our sincere sympathy. Joe did the best that he could do and you should be commended for your support and assistance. You were always there with him, every hour, every day, and every new challenge. You never gave up.

May God grant you peace and comfort!

John & Joann

I'm so sorry, Nancy. I'm also sorry about my late reply, I was out of town for a week. You and Joe are the people I especially think of in connection with our forum. You always find kind words for us, whether we are pre-oppers or post-oppers. God bless you and especially Joe, who I like to think of one more guardian angel looking out for us.

Nancy,

Nancy,

I haven't been online much recently but when I was on and read about Joe's passing I was in shock. I am so sorry for your loss. The two of you are such an inspiration to all of us. You were able to spend many happy years together that Joe was not expected to have. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family. You and Joe are loved by many and I pray that that love will help you during the difficult times.
The memorial site you put together for Joe is beautiful. An amazing tribute to a very special man.

All my love,
Gail

Nancy, I am so, so sorry. I read this a couple of days ago, but was so shocked and upset that I couldn't even respond. I think the little kid in me kept thinking that if I ignored this, it would just disappear and not be true.........

but the big kid in me kept grieving...........for you, your family, our family here, and, well, for me, too. The words haven't come - not that they exist - to take your hurt and pain away. I have been scarce on the list lately due to fighting my own demons, but I had to log back on and tell you how much Joe and you have meant to me..............how much y'all still mean to me. I know two hundred others have already told you how Joe has been such an inspiration to them. Well, Joe IS an inspiration to me! He will continue to inspire me for, I hope and pray, many years to come.

As the parent of a child with complex heart defects and a mechanical valve and one who has undergone numerous surgeries already, I can only hope and pray that Katie has the fight, the stamina, the courage, and the resilliance that Joe had. I can only hope and pray that I am as a staunch and knowledgeble advocate for Katie as you have been for Joe.

Joe will be sorely missed, but he will continue to be our role model. You have our love and prayers. Many sad hugs. J.

Dear Nancy,

My deepest sympathies to you at this difficult time. Your husband was a great survivor in his 75 years, and I'm sure it was your great privilege to have known him.

Nancy:

The online tribute at the memorial website is lovely. A great deal of work went into the tribute.

You have set an example for all of us on how to be an advocate for our loved ones and how to face adversity with strength despite the difficulty.
