Wayne Kinney DDS

He prefers the Oral-B over Sonicare.

Also,
Google for "Right handed toothbrush Scuba Radius". I like it.

Waterpik WP-100. Don't think of it as a substitute for floss. It is to massage your gums and to get gunk out of the "pockets" by your teeth. Your gums get tougher with use, like the skin on your feet and hands.

They can fix teeth, but they can't fix gums nearly as easily! Take care of them at least as much as your teeth.

Your cardiovascular system's health is infuenced by the state of your oral health. Gunk gets into your bloodstream from your mouth--bad.

Consumers Checkbook magazine is a good resource if you live in or around Boston, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, or Washington DC. It's sort of a local Consumers Reports. They rate many products and services, including dentists. The last dentist rating for Washington was done about 2 years ago. You should be able to find Consumers Checkbook at your local library.

Here's an article about the organization:

Their web site is www.checkbook.org

My dentist is Gerald Cox, on University Drive near Texas Christian University in Fort Worth TX.

It's been about 20 years since I've had anything done other than cleanings (a crown), so I haven't had to test him post-op with extractions, etc.

I sat next to a Grand Prairie TX dentist on a flight to Phoenix recently. He does CE seminars for dentists on weekends. We did talk about mechanical valves and he said he does have patients w/ mechanical valves. I did not ask his protocol for extractions, etc. But he seems to do a lot of restoration work, showed me the software on his laptop computer.

His name is Daniel J. Poticny, on Carrier Parkway in south Grand Prairie.
His father-in-law is either an oral surgeon or orthodontist (I think surgeon) and offices in the same building.
