That's amazing. It would be interesting to know what kind of life these people who have the device are able to live.

I tried to send that story yesterday or the day before (I'm from Montreal), but I couldn't get the link into the message where you can click on it. Will someone please tell me how to do that.

If you will look at the icons above the messege reply white space, you will see a black and white smiley, below that is a blue round shaped icon. If you move your mouse over that blue icon it will say "Insert Link" By clicking on that icon a window will open up allowing you to paste your link that you copied into. Then click okay and your link will appear on your reply message or new thread which ever you are working on

My son has the same or similar device from Thoratec. His is a bit bigger than a D cell battery and only pumps for the left ventricle. It is a continuous flow pump. He also does not have a discernable pulse. We had to take him to the local fire station so that they would understand about his pump if something happened to him. He is 16 yrs old and as you can see from my avatar, the pump has not slowed him down much. He does not race motorcycles anymore, but he is racing his little 4 wheeler. I did not want him to have a heart transplant because he was young and I hoped that he could miraculously recover. Apparently, miracles do happen, he is having the pump taken out in March because his heart looks much better now.

Wow Deanne,

What an amazing story. I do believe miracles do happen along with amazing medical technology.
